I HATE GLENN BECK

Of all the dates he could have picked, he just had to fucking pick tomorrow. And I don't mean the fact that it's the day Martin Luther King made his "I Have A Dream" speech, I'm talking about the fact that tomorrow is my birthday. My birthday is being canceled out by this arrogant, oblivious fucker and his fucking insane idea that he and all these people are doing something important for the country, when in reality, everyone just hates him. Usually, I don't mind Glenn Beck at all, but he just crossed the fucking line.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

As far as whether his actions are right or not, I highly doubt he will do anything inappropriate. I also doubt anything Beck could do would "screw over" MLK's speech.

Edit: I approve of this politically relevant topic.
Hope you saw some of the Edits I have made.

The benefactors of the Restoring Honor rally are...

The Special Operations Warrior Fund, hellbent on sending the children of deceased SpecOps soldiers to college, free of charge.

On August 28, 2010 you can join Glenn Beck at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial for his Restoring Honor Rally. This is a non-political fundraiser for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a top-rated nonprofit organization that provides support and assistance to the families of wounded and fallen special operations personnel. This includes 60,000 of America's elite troops such as Navy SEALs, Army Green Berets and Rangers, Air Force combat controllers and Marine Corps special operators.
From the SOWF site.
Its what the entire rally is for. NOT TO CHANGE THE COUNTRY

Next time read your sources please.

The thread title conjures images of Glenn Beck leading a mob of people all dressed in white robes and hoods.

Maybe his PR agent suggested he do something like this so more people will like him, or at the very least think he isnt all bad.

I was actually watching him last night for laughs, and he wasn't on a completely insane rant for once. He also wasn't bawling his eyes out, which was a shock. Hell, he even made some good points (he talked about a whole mix of things). However, when he pointed out that the reason America is "losing honor" is because of the lack of God in our lives, his entire thing went down the tubes. Utter bullshit.

I'm Catholic (albeit a VERY CASUAL catholic, if that is the right term), but you don't need God to know the difference between right and wrong, or what is honorable versus what isn't. That's the parents' job. If the next generation is fucked up, it's not because of a lack of religion, but because of bad parenting. Bad parenting seems to be a theme for this generation.
[/end rant]

He talked about the speech during that, which is why I brought it up. I don't like Glenn Beck, but he has the right to have these speeches. I will watch it, just to see what he has to say. I'll give him a fair chance. To say I'm expecting something less than coherent from him is an understatement though.

The thing about Glenn Beck is that he makes everything political. He can shout from the rooftops that he is only trying to help, but in reality he is a puppet for the republican party. Everything the dems are for, he is against no matter what. A dem(not that any of the twats would) could be helping an old lady across the street and he would turn that around and say that they obviously are liberal communists that want free healthcare for all at the expense of our guns. So am I glad that people are getting help: Yes. Help is help. Do I automatically think that Glenn Beck is doing this out of the kindness of his heart: No. That would require a heart, or at least a will of his own or maybe a mind that runs on more than money and non-Christian bashing.

If Glenn Beck calls for a rally, all we gotta do is call for a rally on Glenn Beck. [/sarcasm]

Seriously though, Glenn Beck is allowed to speak his mind, even though I think he's hurting our glorious American nation by making the Government look incompetent and yet some how corrupt and all powerful.

Allow me to quote from the Greatest Show In Social Media?: [http://www.facebook.com/MysteryShipRadio]
"TP For My Bunghole Dept.: I'd pay $50 to watch the pay-per-view if we waterboarded Sarah Palin. Can someone make this happen? I'll pay $100 if you throw in Glenn Beck and make it Two-For Tuesday."

Why should it matter if he is speaking his mind on something? I mean, unless you like his views, it doesn't really mean anything.

So you are going to act how a person should act? Then again so many others do not so I guess you could be proud for acting like a decent human-being. Yay?

I'm not of the opinion that anyone is required to approve of Glenn Beck's views. But there is notable ignorance in your comments here. For one thing, Beck is not a Republican. He doesn't even like Republicans. If the GOP was in power and screwing things up as badly as the Dems are now, he'd be just as quick to call them out on it too. Also, he is a Constitutionalist, which is why he is supportive of the second amendment. It's part of our basic rights as Americans. Third, Beck does not hate everyone who is not Christian. He isn't exactly fond of the Sharia sect of the Islam, but that's because those are the people who blow up planes and skyscrapers. Also the guys who kidnap and murder innocent civilians and then tape it for the world to see.

No one says you have to like Glenn Beck or agree with him. But saying the man is heartless and led around by the nose by a party he doesn't even belong to, is simply ignorant and insulting.
Many people, particularly Muslims, would say that calling Sharia a "sect of Islam" is ignorant and insulting. I think people getting into a fuss about him making the speech there are about at silly as the chicken littles who think the "Ground Zero Mosque" is dangerous.

Well it wouldn't be that bad if he himself actually advertised it more as a charity, rather than a gathering that will change the course of American history.

I'm surprised that we, the Escapees, actually give a damn about Glenn Beck. He's motivated by personal gain just as much Jon Stewart is. I don't give a rats ass about the former, but I love the latter, and yet I know what they are about.

Stop hating on Glenn Beck; it is, as I found out, just as useless as hating on Justin Bieber.
