While I know that I will get a lot of flak for this, I agree.

I can appreciate the importance of a taboo against incestuous reproduction, which is one that is actually grounded, but I don't see how a sterile (ie. no kids) relationship between two people who happen to be genetically close is morally wrong.

As a result of my viewpoint, Beck's argument is falling on deaf ears. He seems to be making the slippery-slope argument of "If we tolerate and accept the dreaded gays, why should we not accept incest?", while I already have the view of "What's wrong with incest if you take away the reproductive aspect?". It makes so little sense as an argument to me that I can't even think of an appropriate analogy.

I hate him for being a hypocrite but I'm fine with the act itself. No one's getting hurt, and they aren't getting married and having kids or anything.

I don't see why he objects to the term "incest" though. Well, I do. He's a pussy and would rather avoid the label than fight for his beliefs against the negative connotation that's attached to the word. I would like to note that the quotations of him are hideously fragmented, which leads me to immediatly question the source and why they frequently omited so much intervenious materials...I assume that since this person is a prominent conservative talk show personality that the web site is a blog by a self described "rabid liberal" (I fished around the site after the little red flag popped up in my head) I wonder if this is deliberate word twisting to assassinate this person's character. I am more interested in what wasnt posted than what was. Was it his step sister? Adopted sister? Was he adopted? What else is going on here? There are 18 breaks in the quote's filled in by elipses (the little "..."s everywhere) which is the simplest way to legally omit information from a quote, as well as a a half dozen unneccessary paragraph break up and fragment sentences thrown in. I dont care two diggs about either Glenn Beck or PostAvant and dont care to look into this any further than to check the sources credibility. If anyone out there owns, has read, or plans to read the book please post. I admit I am curious if my hunch is correct, but dont care to read the life story of a person I do not know over this.
Please dont trust everything you read at face value people...that is how the corrupt rally the foolish to thier causes.

Despite the fact that it's not something I'd ever do, some people like to get jiggy with their family. That's good on them, they do what they want. But looking at the article it even states that it wasn't true, nor was it even a lie, it was a hypothetical situation. I understand Glenn's point, although it's a stupid one.

Yeah you can argue that inbreeding indeed increases the chance of mutations in any given gene pool, but I must remind you that any gay or same-sex relationship doesn't allow for reproduction in the first place. Most incestuous relations happen between two children experimenting, which often times stays between the two of them.

I would say, though that if he indeed had an incestuous relationship with his sister, then I do find it rather ironic that he's also anti-gay marriage. Anyways, interesting read, but to be honest I doubt he really did bang his sister. Even if he did, who cares?
