Nothing wrong with making out with your sister.
YES THERE IS.

Its VERY wrong.
Give me one good reason outside religion, assuming no breeding.
No, just no.

If you are some sicko with the hots for your siblings then I hope they lock their doors at night.

Its VERY wrong. The bond that siblings share is VERY different than boyfriend/girlfriend on SO MANY LEVELS.

I'm not even gonna argue this with you, you are sick.

I have no idea who this guy is, but a lot of people seem to hate him. Plus there was that Cracked article that derided an entire show of his and now this? Maybe I'm glad I have no idea who he is.

I lean to the right and I really think Beck needs to stfu and gtfo. He does more damage to the Republicans then Democrats.

I don't have a Sister. I just want one answer out of you all, other than an emotional/religious reason, why this is wrong assuming they don't breed.
The emotional reason is all you should need.

If you are sexually attracted to your sibling there is something wrong with you.....period.

Glenn Beck is a strange guy. I hope this news doesn't surprise anyone. I mean, he was a drunk for some years. Sometimes shit happens when you binge drink. Let that be a lesson to you all.

What if two people fall in love and only later discover that they're genetically related? Should they give each other up simply because society keeps calling them sickos?

"He's bat-shit insane, but I can see his point. If you buy the whole "you can't help who you love" argument to support gay relationships, then I suppose the same can be used to justify incest... rite?"

You can, which is why they call the gay issue a "slippery slope". the slope starts at "Vegas weddings".

So I don't support his incest/racism or gay marriage. Bill O' Reilly is a rapist. I heard that interns tape. Who's the one with the Oxycotin/Viagra addiction?

You know what all Republicans "rolemodels" are some sort of bizarre freak, and they touch a Bible on TV while they are doing it. Blaspheming hypocrites.
At least they gays are brave enough to say they are weirdos IN PUBLIC.

Young, Christian, who voted for Obama and damned proud.(Christians can curse/drink/eat non-kosher foods/have leisure sex/kill in self defense).

TRY Christianity TODAY!!!!(especially you Republicans)

Really? When was the last time you heard of long lost siblings coincidentally running into each other and falling in love? Not that it hasn't happened, I'm not omnipresent, but the chance it has is very, very miniscule.

1st of all, that is retarded.

Even if that did happen, animals (us included) instinctively know not to be attracted to family.

I'll be honest I thought he was trying to be a parody of a conservative for a long time, like Colbert...

As a scientist, I disagree. The emotional response is what I don't want. PROVE to me there is something wrong with someone if they do.
As a scientist?

More like "as an idiot"

Making out is something done out of what is primarily a sexual urge, which you should NOT be feeling for someone you should not have sex with. Basic evolution gave us an instinct to avoid sexual feelings for a relative for a good reason.

Its basic science. Honestly, don't call yourself a scientist without knowing any.

Stop throwing insults around and actually address my question.

I'd also like to mention that in ancient Egypt, among other places, it was commonplace for the aristocracy and royalty to marry within the family. Take Amenhotep and his sister-wife Ahmose-Meritamun. In fact, just read Pride and Prejudice and you'll see that as recently as the 19th Century it was not considered odd for cousins to marry in England. Finally, I would point you to Greek mythology. Did you know that Zeus and Hera were siblings? How about Oranos and his mother-wife Gaia? Kronos and his sister-wife Rhea? Or the Egyptian Osiris and Isis, yet another wedded pair of siblings. These instances are far from isolated. Now why would human cultures have deities - paragons of contemporary conceptions of virtue, the people we wish we were - which participate in brother-sister incest? How does any of this point towards an instinctual aversion?

It's not likely at all, you're right, but I have heard of instances of it occurring. More to the point, it's the incest scenario towards which we are most likely to feel sympathetic: Two people, unaware of their relationship, fall in love completely naturally. Then, later, they discover that they are in fact, genetically, siblings. So, let us assume two facts: firstly the absence of any social brother-sister relationship between them and secondly the decision not to reproduce. In this scenario, is any psychological harm going to befall them for their relationship beyond that produced by social pressures to end it? And this is not the only scenario in which people will be in love and genetically close and not care about the latter. I'm not one to deny love for the sake of a knee-jerk reaction; if I did I'd be protesting gay marriage.

Ancient cultures married COUSINS not siblings. Also in pride and prejudice, COUSINS not siblings. You can get away with more distant relationships.

As for the gods, you know they aren't real right? That they are just myths? Also, they where gods!!! Not humans, the same rules did not apply to them!!!!!

Gods where not even the "pictures of virtue" you think they where. Even the ancients knew that their gods where a bunch of lunatics that could wipe out whole civilizations on nothing more than a whim. They didn't take all their morals from gods in ancient Greece and such.

There, I addressed your argument and found it full of crap.

Love without sex is basically what being brother and sister is. So they would not need to stay /boyfriend/girlfriend because sibling do love eachother.

I believe in a case like that, it would be in their best interest if they didn't let anyone know they are biological siblings, alleviating the issue altogether. The less people who know, the less backlash they will have to deal with. If I knew the couple before the genetic discovery then told the news later, I'd think it was gross, the same way I think gay sex is gross. But seeing as one of my closest friends is gay, it's safe to say I'd treat the couple the same no matter what transpired.
