I'm sure the guy is still a bit nutty, but he even admits that in the week coming up to losing his voice, just last week, he was still saying hurtful things and this week without a voice has given him time to just stop talking for the first time since 1979 when he started and to think. A single week is enough to change some people's lives, and I can see it did for him. How much? We don't know just yet. I never liked Glenn Beck and always opposed him, but if he's serious about changing and giving up caring about the hateful speeches and the fear mongering and wants to help, I'll give him this chance.
One thing I can agree with is that his only political message in the entire 10 minute span was that we need to stop this NSA action. Regardless of the parties, regardless who started it and who expanded it, regardless of what branch of government did what, we need to stop it. That's what he said and I can fully support that idea. GWB started it, Obama expanded it, and that means nothing. What does mean something is stopping it. Only a unified America can stop it, and as a member the most hated party group currently in America (the Independent party, though not really even a party), I have found similiar minded Americans in the past week from both Liberal and Conservative sides that I can easily see myself walking together with to protest the NSA's actions.
Right now it's America vs the NSA. Once we can take that down, then we can be allowed to yell at each other again. But for now, all Americans have a common enemy that we can work together towards.
