I like Glenn Beck. He's really quite smart. It's always funny how the most obvious trolls are the ones people never realize are trolls. I mean the guy switched political philosophies based on what station he was on. He literally laughed at people who took him seriously and he called himself a clown. But everyone took him seriously anyways.

And like most intelligent trolls, eventually in arguing both sides back and forth one day at MSNBC for big government and the next at Fox News against big government he discovered the truths inherent in both sides and was able to 'say'(write) some really poignant things.

While I'm glad he isn't mute forever (Because I don't care who you are, that'd suck), I'm more glad that there is one less madman in the US Airways.
Seriously, TV in the US is fucking crazy.

*deep breath*
I...eaaacgh
*puts hand ponderingly up to cheeck*

Maybe I should just lay out how I feel and not arrange or fancy it up.

I don''t like a lot of what that man has said over the last 4-5 years.
I don't like even more what the things he's said have done to a lot of people.
He's a human being.
He's not a cartoon antagonist who always says evil things because he's evil.
He deserves anything anyone else does.

I fully want to believe him, believe what he says, that he's changed. That he's finally realized the damage he's caused.
But a part of my brain screams "This human is a snake, with a snakes tongue. He can make anything sound good.
Listening is the first step to falling into it's deception."

One thing that kind of derailed the moment a bit is when he attributed all the bad stuff to the 90's, before he was sober.
I've heard him say terrible, ridiculous things from 2000 onward, both on Fox News and his radio show.
I'm not saying "Aha! Contradiction! Everything else is invalid!" but I would like some further clarification on that if possible.

*sigh*
That made me tear up, because I do have an emotional core left rolling around inside somewhere apparently.
Despite one half of my brain assuring me there is no way this man can change, no way he would even want to.
He's still a human being.
So perhaps foolishly, I believe him.
If he's willing to make a change, to repair some of what he's done and truly stop spreading the paranoia and hate that he has done over the last 4-5 years, I'm willing to treat him with dignity and civility.

I think I may have prayed a bit too hard. Damnit God, you don't have to take everything I ask so literally.

I'm surprised that I didn't find myself objecting much to anything in the video, though he is still trying to instill fear even if it's not directed at any one person or party, and I didn't get the whole "History teaches us SHUT UP, SIT DOWN, DON'T QUESTION, HATE," bit.

Still I like his overall message, and I hope he gets better and maybe even becomes a little less insane as a result of this.

I'm not bothering to watch the video. Did he literally lose his voice. Temporary sickness? Permanent issue?

The guy honestly had nothing good to say. So if he permanently lost his voice, it isn't much of a loss for the world. From lots of things he has said about Obama, other black people, and black people, he was obviously a pretty vicious racist. And that's just one of his many problems.

I'd hate to not show empathy. But I'd be happy to just about anything that further prevents the guy expressing his opinions. If he lost his voice, I feel like he deserved it. Maybe he shouldn't have used his voice to express toxic filth on a continuous basis.

I know that a lot of people will not agree with me on this but i... well, kinda like Glenn Beck. I especially genuinely enjoyed some of his discussions with Penn Jilette. Don't get me wrong, he's a madman. He has said a lot of really stupid and really insensitive things. I'd still take him over the likes of Limbaugh or o'Reilly any day. At least as far as i can judge he actually believes in freedom and small government and, hey, i agree with him on that. And he can provide actual arguments for it when he wants to.

I know, i sound like and apologist for someone who does have a lot of very misguided ideas and everyone on here who hates him has every right to do so but... you know, i would miss him if he never regained his voice. So i'm going to bite the bullet and say:

Get better soon, Glenn, you crazy bastard.

You can now release the hounds on me. ^^

Hey, appearently Glenn Beck has found his voice again. And he used it to compare peaceful protests for immigration reform in the United States to the Ku Klux Klan just two days ago.

So much for him changing.
