This is "The Hurn II" from heresy miniatures. And is totally not blatant copyright infringement, what are you talking about. Fantastic miniature but that gun on his back is an absolute nightmare.[ ]![]()
Amazing conversion, does him justice, as opposed to the GW model which is rather boringAurgelmir said:Time for me to post some!

My Version of Arjac Rockfist, Grimnars Champion
Most of the cape/Pelt is from the Space Wolves Terminator kit, with green stuff to keep it together.Aurgelmir said:Amazing conversion, does him justice, as opposed to the GW model which is rather boringThe Pelt/ cape is very impressive.
Nice, cool lightening effect on the Hammer and Storm ShieldAurgelmir said:Time for me to post some!

Sorry I'm only showing Spess Mehreens, but they're all I've been painting recently as I've not done any painting for about 2 years so my older stuff is even worse

The faces of the standard bearer and of Captain Cortez are layers of scorched brown, then bestial brown, then bronzed flesh, then a wash of brown followed with highlights of a mix of bronzed flesh and white. The hair and beard stubble are just layers of thinned down gray, built up slightly more for the hair than the beardscumofsociety said:I like the face on him, really nice job, even with the picture slightly out of focus it looks really detailed. Was is a a base of grey (hair and beard colour) painted over with flesh to get that effect? Also what blue are you using?Wadders said:To accompany Cortez here is his Standard bearer of the 4th Company.

When my lazy ass tears itself away from TES IV I have an old beetleback 80% finished and he will be making an appearance soon with his 2 friends in my finally completed 1st Warlord Titan battlegroup (and it's only taken me 18 years).

Cool looking dude.scumofsociety said:Much as I hate space wolves, space wolf characters in particular, thanks for posting. Yeah, getting lighting right is a real pig. Personally I think the best is natural light, outside during the day while the sun is out, although seeing as I usually only paint in the evening and I'm always in a hurry to take a photo and post I never actually use it.
Yeah, I had a big MDF gaming table when I was a kid that was covered in grass paper so I used that for the bases as well and I have carried on the tradition.Aurgelmir said:Cool looking dude.
Question: Do you use some sort of sheeted grass that you glue on? It doesn't look like your typical static grass that you glue on to me?
Cool. At least your apartment isn't covered in static grass dust like minescumofsociety said:Yeah, I had a big MDF gaming table when I was a kid that was covered in grass paper so I used that for the bases as well and I have carried on the tradition.Aurgelmir said:Cool looking dude.
