This. sounds. fucking. AWESOME!

I would love to participate in something like this, even if it was only once. Just thinking about it makes me nergasm, multiple times.

We just did that last weekend at University of Victoria. There were over 200 of us! It was fucking awesome!!!!

The best way to go is to either mod up the nerf guns or go dual wielding melee (which is way more fucking fun)

Purdue started doing this last year as well...Just finished our last game with about 800-900 players...I survived the first day and defected to zombie after my Nerf gun broke (accident) and I hurt my leg and ribs in a fall through bushes and over a concrete bench...

I then joined RAVE...Basically a group of zombies with a boombox + additional speakers installed into a backpack walking around challenging human groups to danceoffs and providing moral support for the horde...

Great fun no matter what side your on!

I have done this. It is glorious.

First semester, I went down (in epic, balls to the wall fashion. I pulled the trigger on myself before the zombies got me, but apparently, that doesn't work with NERF).

Second semester, I survived to tell my tale. I stood tall with my Vulcan and Sock combo (The second semester game started the week after Resident Evil 5 came out, and because of HvZ, I bought the special edition. That Tri-Cell bag that came with it? It holds about 50 socks).

My old roommate and I made a trailer for our University for a project of his (he's a film major) and it was incredibly badass. HvZ is really fun, especially if you get big campus support. Half of my professors allowed us to be significantly late or to miss the class altogether if we were still on the human side, stating that "sometimes, its just to dangerous outside." While I never skipped a class, I was late a few times.

Why is there nothing like this in the UK?

Apart from a distinct lack of Nerf weapons.
Uh...well it's not quite the same, but Cambridge, Durham, Oxford and Sheffield Universities have Assassin's Guilds, where the weapon of choice is the NERF gun, although obviously assassination is a little more subtle than zombie hordes. I'm in the middle of my first game at Cambridge with my trusty NERF Maverick, although apparently there's a really paranoid veteran out there with a turret made from a motion sensor, laptop and a NERF Vulcan (which is basically a belt-fed NERF machine gun). Another person has no less than 4 NERF guns in her possession, all modded. This stuff is serious.

University just got much more fun.

Wow even though I'm not in Uni that'd be beyond awesome.

I don't think my university (Leeds, in the UK) has ever done anything like this. However, we do have an Assassin's Guild in our student union societies, which I've joined this year (sadly too late for this term's main game, but hopefully I'll be able to join the next one), and their main game usually includes 'zombies' as killed players who are allowed to kill anyone left in the game if they wish. I guess it's somewhat similar? Either way, I'm gaining a slight interest in LARPing with the Guild and with the fact that on some occasions there've been flashmobs and stuff organised in the city (sadly I always seem to miss them :p), so yeah...

Last week we finished our Fall Quarter game at University of Washington with a record breaking 950+ people in attendance. And I am very happy to see attention like this to Humans vs Zombies Tag, as it is a fantastic game with countless social, mental, and physical benefits.

At UW, fans and game managers have also put together a few videos for advertising and informational purposes and I think they are pretty dang cool. (Although, the OT video was REALLY well done and I loved it.)

-This first one is a fan-made advert made for the most recent game, it's cute and simple.

-This video comes from the people running our game. It is much more professional, and was used to describe the optional mission that accompanied this quarter's game, it includes a lot of the mechanics of the game and it is really flashy.

Youtube is full of actual gameplay if you want to see the heat of the action, but it is exactly like you'd think it is. A bunch of baby-adults menacing a school campus for a week with plastic guns shooting each other. Of course, some campuses have issues with it, especially if the students get out of hand when playing it (Western Washington University's game was shutdown midgame after some rough-housing and rule breaking occurred). But we managed to not only host our 6th official game, but also hosted it AROUND the scheduled time when President Obama visited campus. (Which is as cool as it is hilarious)

This is something that MANY different people love and are heavily involved with, so seeing an article like this makes me ecstatic! College can be a very scary and stressful place, and where a simulated Zombie Apocalypse doesn't help with stress or fear in the short term, you always know... It could be worse...

Our school did this too. Its gotten real popular real fast. Last year they only had 30 or so people sign up but this year we had over 150 people. They plan on expanding it the next year.

Human 1: "IN-FEC-TED!!!"
Human 2: "Fire!"

*Ping Ping Ping*

Infected: *checks self*
"Wait. What... Aw dammit. Styrofoam."
*Explodes*

That seriously looks cooler than any zombie game I've yet to see! I love how the human team in this situation is smart enough to pack swords.

How awesome is it one a scale of 1 to 10?
IT'S OVER 9000!

OT: The level of my jealousy is without bounds. There is nothing I would enjoy more than playing a civilian/soldier in an RL zombie apocalypse game.
