Going to GameFaqs about sums it up.

First post in shares my sentiments exactly. Usually you have to sift through 10 meme posts just to get an answer to a basic question.

The only problem with the Escapist is that so many people are so damn elitist about everything. I swear, if I bring up how I haven't played their favorite ages old game, I'm less of a human to them.

Why wouldn't it still be elitism? Assuming that whatever the community feels elitist about is either right or wrong, the fact there's an heir of superiority and possible delusions of grandeur is still quite rampant.

Elitism is when you feel and act better than everyone else. However, we ARE better than other forums, so it's not being elitist, it's stating the truth.

It might be elitest to call something "better" then another, when there's no objective classifactions that determine the quality. Some people just like to swear obscenities where no one know's your name.
