AAAAA bulletstorm was... fucking awful.... I played through it.... I started off hating it - and then about 20 minutes after the initial cutscenes/"plot" bollocks the actual GAME started and it got OK - and then it got interested - but the dialogue was still awful - but I thought, you know, it's almost fun - it's z-grade dialogue - you almost would've enjoyed it.
If it weren't for the fact the dialogue was just WEARYINGLY awful and just continued without a break or variation throughout the entire predictably plotted game, I probably would've given it a hesitant thumbs up.
As it was, the fun gameplay didn't really make up for the constant hur hur hur 15-year old playing a 18 year restricted game genital references.
I mean really - it was total jock-nerd mayhem.
And the ending was just HEY WE'RE MAKING A SEQUEL with no resolution for a story that was so atrocious and bad that you wished desperately that it would finish.

I can't blame anyone but myself. It cost me the price of a subway sandwich and for that I got my money's worth, for sure - but arg by the end I just wanted it OVER.

Pretty environments, but damn Yahtzee was right - this game is toxic, toxic, life-wasting with not a hint of subtlety - and for about 2 hours that was fun. But it just GRATED after a while.

Cool story bro, what do you wish to discuss?

Personally I played the demo, thought it was alright. Sometimes in an age where neck-beards tear up over their precious JRPGs it's nice to have a game liberally use phrases like "dick-tits" in between poppin' fools in the nuts.

So....... Bashing thread?

I played the Demo of Bulletstorm. It was okay. I was planning on buying it before i played the demo, but actually playing it, plus having choices between other games, i never ended up buying it, and just forgot about it in less than a month or so.

To each their own. I,for one, really enjoyed the game. The dialogue is hilarious, the only gripe I had was that towards the end it got too serious for some reason.

Why did you keep on playing if it's grating?

Other than that, no point to this thread. There are a million other opinion threads where you could have posted, no point in opening up a "GODTHISGAMESUCKS" topic for shits and giggles. Bulletstorm was fun for me. It's by no means a game of legends, but it's a slightly amusing romp.

I enjoyed it.

Granted, it was really bloody silly, but it was so utterly without pretension that I was happy to sit back and bask in the juvenile stupidity.

Bulletstorm was a game that said, "Here is a gun and a whole stack of dick jokes, that's all you're getting." I didn't go in expecting a nuanced story or strong character development, so I wasn't disappointed when they weren't in there. Sure, I'd prefer a game with those things, but if someone wants to make a goofy game about shooting people in the nuts then I'm prepared to meet them half way.

Incidentally, the worst parts of the game were those moments when it tried to get serious. ("I don't hold you accountable.") Those really didn't work.

If you say so. Some of the lines were hilarious and a lot of the game actually required some skill if you wanted massive point combo's.

Case in point:

"If you try to follow me i'll kill your dick!"
"wait, what, what does that even mean!?! I'll kill your dick!"

Seconded. I died four times after that line due to not being able to play because I was preoccupied howling with laughter.

Bulletstorm may not be polished diamond, but it is diamond.

Ya it was the game equivalent of an old accountant pretending to be fun with dialogue straight from a frat house, I know alot of people really go for that but I for one don't.

It's better than Duke Nukem Forever

Aww man you beat me to it. At least I finished Bulletstorm, I only made it a couple of levels in Duke Nukem Forever before I uninstalled it.

I liked it. The shooting was great fun (and electro-whip...just...fuck yeah!), even if the more elaborate weapons weren't as cool as they could be, the characters had sympathetic motivations and some actual characterization at the same time as being dickheads (plus, Jennifer Hale is always awesome), the enemies were nasty enough to want to dismember and ridiculous enough for their nastiness to not bring the mood down. It could've been much better, probably needed more development time really, but it was money well spent.

That said, the ending is a big ol' pile of crap, not resolving anything in favour of having a sequel hook that may or may not be delivered on.

I'll take it over Duke Nukem any day of the week. Proof that straight-up fun ultraviolence doesn't have to be soulless or misogynistic.

I liked it a lot. Although the campaign kind of undermined the whole premise. It's a satirical take on the genre that happens to be an awful lot of fun to play.

I spent time scoreboard chasing the Echoes and for the amount of time I got out of the game I really got my money's worth even at full price.

This is a comma: ","
Comma =/= Dash
Ergo, do not use dash as a comma.

What do you want to discuss, though? I thought it was pretty awesome. It was obvious that Bulletstorm wasn't about the story, but the silly gameplay.
