I have legitimately told men only two or three years my junior (I'm 23) to pull their damn jeans up when they go about with them hanging off their arses.

In my defense they look like complete tools, it can't be comfortable and belts aren't that expensive.

Had one a day or two ago when I realized I am turning 20 this year. Leaving the teen years behind.

Also this comic is good for this topic, if slightly out of date.

Nothing that hasn't already been said, but... well, it feels like the world I grew up in just isn't there any more.

Most recently... when seeing all the posts from 19 - 25 year olds on this thread. Oi, you have no idea how much worse...

The odd one recently was watching Leverage and wondering some stuff about the rest of the cast (I had really only ever heard of Tim Hutton.) I checked some of them out on IMDB. Saw the credit by Aldis Hodge's name that he was in Die Hard With a Vengence. Couldn't remember him or his character's name (Raymond). So I looked it up. He was one of the little kids. Then it hit me how long ago that movie came out.

I hate you so much right now. I did NOT need to know that.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go apply some IcyHot.

I'm 22 year old and I am already referring to 'in my younger days' when it comes to gaming.
And then I am talking about things from 5,6 years ago. the hell o.o

I'm doing that to my brother too. I plan to start him from the older games before going onto the pretty looking ones so that he can appreciate what we have now.

I'm still considered young by most of the population (I'm about to turn 26 if you were curious) but have been feeling old lately. I thought instead of complaining about kids being in my yard, I'd hop onto this new-fangled internet thing and see if others have their own old-feeling stories.

So a bit ago, I was playing tennis with a buddy of mine. We've played a set by now, so I'm warmed up and looking for a win as he just beat me. I go to pick up a tennis ball from the ground when I get a spike of pain in my back. I didn't seriously hurt my back, but I had to stop playing the game because I bent over and hurt myself...

So in tribute to my upcoming 26th birthday, does anyone else have a fun story about feeling old? Yes, you ancient 30 year old's can also participate as long as you don't complain about the music in here being too loud... :)
I'm in the same place you are, 25 years old, and these little pains that hurt, but don't make me drop the ground are coming left and right.

My finger joints are in pain as well as the lower part of my back. I seem to be going steadily worse in my eyes. As for a story.

I was climbing trees tying off the top of them so I could cut them down safely. Well, I messed up my back on it and spent the rest of my Saturday laying in bed and watching tv instead of playing video games.

From what I've been told these pains are foreshadowing what you get to look forward to in the future except by the time you hit 50 those pains will drop you to the ground. I'm not sure if there is a way to counter it, but I know sitting in the computer chair all day doesn't help your back. ...Doesn't help any of our backs.

Good luck man, just remember when we get to the point of being shoved in a home we're going to make damn sure they have internet.

I notice all the 8-to-12-year-olds these days have iPods, or, failing that, a DS or something similar. When I was that age I had to listen to music on a huge CD player that sat on top of my dresser. The GameBoy Advance was top-of-the-line, and I didn't even own one.

Also, the fact that no one younger than 15 seems to remember SimCity or Age of Empires.

I'm 18. Cripes.

In just a few years (if it hasn't already happened), Teens will see the Ring or Ringu without ever having seen a movie on a VHS Tape.
(Adding to this, i remember how some Video Games Magazine had one issue with a VHS Tape that offered an Exclusive first look at Games for the Nintendo 64, wich may had still been called Ultra 64 back then)

I remember using DOS paired with Windows 3.11 and making fun of how you need to click on "Start" to shut down your computer.

I remember perferring using a Walkman (as in Portable CASETTE Player) over a Discman (as in Portable CD Player) because of the horrible Battery Life latter things had.

That said, my first illegal music download was done by pressing "Record" when the Song started on the Radio. (also i remember considering the cost of an illegaly downloaded album, not because it was some kind of black market deal, but because blank CD-Rs were sort of pricey)

I remember reading a Print Magazine that was essentially just a List of Internet Links.

I remember going into a McDonalds that sold Toys for the newest big movie blockbuster, Jurassic Park.

I remember using floppy disks that were actually "floppy", installing Theme Park and having to switch disks 4 times only to realize one of them was corrupted, and i remember that one priority of buying a pc was making sure it still had a disk drive so i could make rescue disks.

I remember a time before Internet, Cellphones, and without restrictions on how much fluids you could bring on an airplane, and with being only 25, i could come up with a lot more.

For people born around the same time I was, its super easy to make yourself feel old. Go look up the release date of the movie Aladdin, when you realize its now 20 years old you're going to suddenly feel like an old man.

Also I remember using an 8 inch floppy disk to play a really old game... that makes me older then god in computer terms (not to mention I'm older then the world wide web and that makes me older then dirt in the eyes of anyone younger then me).

I remember having a gaming discussion with some kids (around 13-14, also quite intelligent well behaved kids) and I mentioned SNES and said I loved those days. They had of course never heard of it... Then one of them said "Oh, that's those games you can ply using Snesw"...
