This Rambourg guy makes some fair points, but then proceeds to negate almost every valid point he makes by bullshitting about something else.

He's right about one thing, though, pricing is hurting the industry. However, it's not the sales. It's the initial prices publishers ask for. The standard of $60, no matter the content, is a terrible business model. One brought on, in part, by the brick-and-mortar retailers ridiculous policies.

With that in mind, if anything, the sales we get from DD services are the temporary "fix" for the real issue.

So, Mr. Rambourg, I think you're looking at the wrong "thing" as for what is bad for gamers and the industry.

I bought Half Life 1 for 3.50 during the holiday sale last year. Does this make me a bad person? Spending tree fiddy on a masterpiece?
Yes. It makes you a very, very bad person. You should feel ashamed. For shame! How dare you?!

Soon, buying cheap will be crime.
I know, consumers claiming "sales are bad"...I must be in the Twilight Zone.
No, you're just on the internet. A place where, ironically, people will use ANY excuse to whine about DD services. Steam, GOG, or what-have-you.

Seriously, follow some of the arguments some people (usually the same people) on this forum use to lambast DD services and anyone who likes them. One statement they make in one thread will, at times, go completely against something they claim in another thread.

Hell, I've seen some of these people complain about Team Fortress 2's four years of free DLC and updates, and then go on to DEFEND Day-1/on-disc premium DLC because it was from someone like Bioware.

It'd be humorous if it weren't so annoying. (and frequent(and insane))
