GOG Kicks off their (nuclear) winter sale with a bang!

GOG being the great people they are have kicked off quite the sale for the lot of us, most games half off, daily deals, bundles, etc.

I'm personally loving it and I'm wondering what games you guys plan to get? I always see threads about people wondering about steam sales but what about a GOG sale people?

They're giving away the Fallout trilogy for FREE. (for the next 48 hours)

I personally plan to buy quite a lot off my wishlist and see if I can get that refund for Raiden (it's not working is why). All my hype fellow escapists, all my hype.

i sadly can not purchase anything due to server implosions. Hopefully i can soon as i would like to get Icewind Dale and a digital copy of Planescape Torment as my disc is old and its acting its age.

The Fallout series are the best WRPGs out there. And Fallout Tactics is criminally underrated. I hope this free giveaway goes a long way in helping people realize the truth of those two statements.

I already have physical copies of all the Fallout games, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have digital backups.

And Fallout Tactics is criminally underrated.

Sooo agreed. Yeah, it causes some continuity errors if you try to fit it into the canonical storyline... but the gameplay itself is a lot of fun if you're into games like Jagged Alliance 2, it has some great voice acting (R. Lee Ermey and Kurtwood Smith!), and to top it all off there's a lot of great dark humor thrown into the mix.

I think the problem for Fallout Tactics was it was a bit buggy when it was first released. Critics gave it a lot of bad press for that. It didn't take long for good patches to come out and fix the problems, but by then it was too late. But yes... if you're into turn based squad combat, you absolutely owe it to yourself to play Fallout Tactics. I enjoyed every hour of the sixty five I put into beating it.

Steam may get all the press for crazy discounts, but I have to give huge props to GOG for having great prices and fun spins on sales. The "choose your gift discount of the day" mechanic on this sale is nifty, their build-your-own-bundle things are great, and their insomnia sale a few weeks ago are wonderfully devious. Nothing gets peoples' attention like new sales every 30 seconds.

Oh sweet! I have the original FO from when they gave that out free but have never played 2 or tactics. I didn't realize their sales started so early though I got most of what I wanted last time around and already have a backlog.

Ah yes, the free Fallout deal. Just picked up Fallout 2 because I want to see if it's a good game and not just because people's nostalgia is telling them that.
Also got Outlast, The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief and Beyond Good and evil. looking forward to those~

Btw, they changed things a bit yesterday and are still selling all previous bundles/packs/package deals at the same time now for another 87 minutes. What happens next though?

I have to keep up some measure of budget, so I'm out of this sale. Planescape is still worth the tenner it normally costs though.
