Going through my backlog

I promised myself I wouldn't buy a new game until September (except for Deus Ex 3, which is already paid for), since I have so many unfinished games in my bookcase and hard disk. I have absolutely no idea which game I want to play/finish first, so I'll leave the decision to YOU!

So, here's the list, and how far I am in each game:

Brutal Legend (barely started)
Dead Rising 2 (barely started)
Call of Duty 4 (Act 2)
Condemned 2 (barely started)
GTA IV (almost done)
Killzone 2 (about halfway through)
L.A. Noire (just started Vice)
Metal Gear Solid (barely started)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (barely started)
Resistance (about halfway through)
Resistance 2 (not even started)
Saints Row 2 (a few hours in)

Outland (Just got the red form)
Dead Nation (Level 5)
Final Fantasy VII (out of Midgar)
Final Fantasy VIII (Disc 2)

Tomb Raider Underworld (barely started)
Syphon Filter (barely started)
Blood Omen (barely started)

With such a massive list, I can't make a poll, so just give me your top 3 choices or something.

Also, I played through MGS 2 and 3, but not 1. Would I understand the story of 4 without knowing the first's?

Personally, I'd say go with:

Final Fantasy IX
Saint's Row 2
Assassin's Creed 2

For the Metal Gear series, I would recommend to play through them all, as you will appreciate the 4th more, in terms of story and the perfection of the gameplay from the rest of the series.

Besides, the first is awesome.

On topic, of the games in your list that I've played, Brutal Legend was the one I enjoyed the most, with the Metal Gear Solid series being second.

You could probably get through DR2, Brutal Legend and CoD4 in a weekend, so I'd start there. Unless you're all about achievements, then it will take longer.

Aside from that I'd hit up GTAIV next (I enjoyed the ending) as you're "almost done" that one too.

Then start playing your story driven games (like FF and such) until you get bored and switch to something more involved, like Metal Gear.

But hey. They're your games play them as you like

A lot of mine are, barely any games inspire me right to the end (most of mine are open world). About half.

Brutal Legend is fun and suprisingly short! Get that out of the way. Metal gears are good.
