Going to a Lan what strategy games to bring?

Starcraft 1, unless you have an internet connection + enough copies of SC2 then go that...

And no, don't play civ... you won't finish the game lol, especially since you always get the mate who always takes 10 minutes just to make a move.

Warcraft III is also fun, infact perhaps even more nub proof than starcraft (theres always a nub who comes along).

Empire Earth
You wont have experienced anything like an 8 man 4v4 Empire Earth lan game before, also they last for about 3-12 hours per game.
Me and my friends play it at every lan we go to, got one at the end of this month. Empire Earth will be our main game, nudges out things like San Andreas MP and Counterstrike.

this. idk why but this game is the ONE strategy game that i just absolutely love, i have yet to find a game that has matched it quite yet, empire earth can be simple barrages or it has the most strategic battles you have ever seen (in more ways than you can imagine, such as the classic rush, tank countering, laying traps, fortress spies, etc...)

I just had a game of rise of nations yesterday and I would highly recommend it. Great game for LAN (the learning curve is a bit steep though, if you've never played a game like it before).

Well you should ask what will be played or is the standard, there is no use bringing a game that noone else plays.
But they will probably be all over Starcraft right now.
