\I bring this up because every single thread I see on this has women saying something to the effect "If it were socially acceptable or legal for me to go topless, I'd totally do it" or "I wish I could take my shirt off."
Actually it's legal for women to be publicly topless in New York (The only place on earth that really matters) since it's legal for men to be as of 93.

I'm a chunky guy, and I still like taking my shirt off. It instantly adds more manliness to any manly action. Sharpening a pencil with a knife? Doing it with my hairy chest on show! Cooking meat? Oh yeah, it's awesome shirtless! Poking a fire with a stick? Doing it while bearing flesh for the world! Sometimes I even like to tuck the t-shirt into the waistband of my shorts, just to emphasise the fact.

I should point out that light injuries do occur from the last two. But it doesn't bother me that I get hot fat on my chest, because I'm frying fucking bacon with my fucking shirt off.

I'm fairly comfortable with my body, so I don't mind taking off my shirt at the beach or pool, or whatever.

I reckon the whole "topless/nudity" deal should be a bit like casual friday. It doesn't happen often, but hey go for it when the time comes, like a "nudie day" or something that happens once every month or something.

As for walking around in public topless - here's the thing. I may in fact not WANT to look at someone's breasts, man or woman. I don't feel its a "right" of someone to say "Hey, I want to go topless, so fuck you and your prudish nature."

Guys wandering around without their shirt on in the street kinda creeps me out. I can't stop staring at their nipples (no homo). Its the same with women, and it just seems like they're drawing attention to themselves.

I don't think men or women have the right to walk around topless in casual public. I think it would be better if the laws were equal on a beach, or at a pool, because hey - less clothing is going to be off anyway.

I was actually thinking about this recently, I have a hairy chest, a sizeable gut and mild moobs. I recently realised the discomfort I feel when I see my fellow males topless on a hot day is resentment and slight envy that my body isn't so grand. It's not lack of confidence - it's being self concious with no negative connotation. Concious of my unattractive fatty tissues around the stomach and chest. It's not a part of my personality, it's mostly below my radar. I'm considering being in the house topless more, just so I'm more aware of my body and therefore more likely to take further steps towards improving it. (Beyond the healthy eating I am currently and for some time now changed to)

Women topless? I'm not a boob man, so if the world turned to toplessness, after the initial shock I wouldn't see it at all sexualised.

As much as I would love to run around naked for all the world to see, I tend to sunburn easily. So there's that.

Wouldn't Ontario Canada be to cold to want to go around topless? The only time I'm shirtless is just out on the shower. Swimming shirtless I would sunburn. I know a few girls who really just hate wearing the bra all the time.

Women in this forum, Disregard that title! Feel free to take your tops off whenever you like.

That said, sometimes its not a matter of comfort or modesty. Sometimes you just like to feel the air on more of your body than just your arms and face. It happens so rarely these days that being outside without a shirt on is really quite bracing, in my opinion. Especially with a nice breeze.

I actually prefer it the way that it is, I probably wouldn't like breasts as much as I currently do if it was as normal for women to be shirtless as it is for men.

If I ever went topless, my knockers would cause traffic jams because they're so fine!

But really, it would just be lots of perverts staring at tits.

With or without the doors attached? =P

OT: Nnnn, it's all about social norms. Hell during the Renaissance right up until about the 19th century, it was considered more erotic for a woman to go around with bare legs than bare breasts. Compare frequency of cleavage vs thighs in C17 & 18 paintings. Call it a 'phase' in the evolution of the human psyche. *shrug*

Personally, I don't really care that much. I dislike going around with anything short sleeved unless I'm at home, much less topless. Sure I look OK, but my skin is very pale, and I prefer it that way.

Nowadays anyone who likes tits is a pervert.
There's a big difference between having a look and ogling imo. It's kinda disturbing when you have someone talking at yer chest, especially if it's someone who's not your type.

Polite people keep strong feelings private to strangers, until they know if it's a good idea or not.

For me there's definitely a line between socially acceptable and being pervy.
