If you're an investor and a gamer, you could play some PS3 and then sell it when gold prices are high.

Wonder how much I would get for it on this website.

I've never understood the point of sticking gold plating to things that don't need them - it rarely if ever results in an aesthetic improvement. Gold-plating a PS3 would simply make it ugly, and you stupid for having spent so much money on an ugly gold plated PS3 when you could have bought all kinds of cool stuff with your 5 grand instead.

Gold melts at high temps right?...
As do all metals. Gold can withstand much higher than what a PS3 could create though, a lot of the wiring in my computer is gold and it doesn't melt so i don't see why it would melt on a PS3.

Gold melts at pretty low tempritures realitive to other metals. If its melting point is higher than the PS3's ambient heat or not, I genuinly do not know.

Also different metals melt at a wide variety of tempritures. There's three metals that are liquid at room tempriture.

PURE gold melts at 1064.18 °C/1947.52 °F, so gold plating over plastic isn't going anywhere. Starke, I think you're thinking of lead (which is still over 300 °C/600 °F).

In any case, I'd be way too afraid of an electrical arc jumping off from other equipment and frying it. What would happen if you had to service it? XD

Is that fine young lady next to it included?

And hell no. It's dangerous enough, as a Florida resident, owning a Wii right now, let alone anything resembling real gold. Robbery would be the name of the game.

So... would you get it? (if you had the money for it, of course.)
No, it's a waste of money, and it's just asking for someone to break into my house and nick it.

I'd rather buy another motorcycle with that money. I could do with putting it towards a Triumph Tiger.

This guy explains it better than I could do also.

It would have been better if it was black accented with gold.

Like this guy.

I'd buy one off the gold speakers and then beat the crap out of whoever thought this was a good idea.
