Finished it a few hours ago. The story is unique for a videogame, but very much the opposite if you've at some point in your life read a book or two. The 90's references made me smile. The voice actress for Sam did a great job. The game uses some horror techniques, like thunder and creaking doors to create artificial tension in an effort to carry a game that would otherwise be more boring without those elements... I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm glad that the ending was not what I expected it to be, it was a pleasant surprise. The "HURR DURR PATRIARCHY" posters could have been omitted, it's supposed to be 1995, not 1880, no need to exaggerate. It is quite overpriced. That is all.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. It does seem a bit much when looked at on its own, but I look back at the movies I go see practically every week, most of which I know I'm not going to "like" that cost roughly the same and it doesn't seem so bad.

"Roughly the same" = half as much? :) You've got some pretty expensive cinemas where you're from I guess, a movie ticket doesn't cost 20$ anywhere I know of, and the game lasted about as much as a movie. It also looked pretty bad and ran like complete ass on my laptop (which has an i5 and a gt540 and can run most games fine), how they managed to fuck up Unity engine that bad I'll never know. In any case, it's worth playing for sure, but not at that price.

An Adult movie ticket costs $18AUD where I'm from.

edit: Another nearby cinema costs $21AUD for an Adult.

Gone Home cost me $18.48AUD at 10% off.
