I hate when games leave you on a cliff hanger, normal when you're really got into the game. Runaway 2 did this but its still a great game.

The phoenix wright serise has had my attention for while but seen so manny paradies of it i duno if i could take it seriously ^^;
The yatzee games, are they just horror or scary horror, I'm very jumpy so if it scary horror I'm going to have to get someone to play it... if not I'll try them myself

Just got longest journey now so I'm off to play it.
Thanks for all your advice and games.

Get a friend to buy a game tap account and give you a log in for it, then play the Sam and Max series.
I'd recommend getting the games from the developers themselves (telltalegames.com). You get a free disk version at the end of the series.
They're amazing games. Absolutely amazing.
The newest one is considered by some to be one of the best adventure games ever.

Also I hear the Syberia games are good. I've been meaning to play them, but meh. I appreciate Adventure games, and I loved The Longest Journey, but a lot of those games (Particularly Myst) are just to freaking hard. I'm not smart enough.
Syberia is a masterpiece. Just throwing that out there.

Uh guys? You've missed a few...

Day Of The Tentacle
Sam And Max Hit The Road
Indiana Jones and The Fate Of Atlantis
Phoenix Wright 1-3 (Not traditional adventure games but still great fun.)
Full Throttle

The Dig is quite good if you can get a hold of it.
Thank god someone brought these up. In addition Indy and the Last Crusade is alright.
Day of the Tentacle ranks up there with the heady heights of Monkey Island, but for me the greatest adventure game of all time is easily.....

LOOM!

Ok no it's not, it's Grim Fandango.

But go and get Loom anyway, because it has one of the most awesome stories and novel control mechanisms of any adventure ever. It is a Lucasfilm Games (yes it's that old) production from before Monkey Island. If you're reeeeeally old school check out Zak McKracken (who knows how you spell it) and the Alien Mindbenders.

I couldn't get into the Longest Journey. I was playing it, enjoying it, got distracted, couldn't face diving back in and trudging through the whole diary to try and remember what I'd done. Pity, I should try again.
Likewise I found Sam and Max Season 1 annoying enough that I only got through the first 2 chapters. I will go back to it.

Similarly, although it's actually a platformer, except that it isn't, go and buy and play Psychonauts. It has a lot of adventure elements and it's hilarious.

Pretty much anything by Wadjet Eye Games is worth trying:

The Shivah is particularly good.

These guys are bar-none the best AGD remake designers on the net, their work on King's Quest II is particularly good and I'm salivating for QFG2.

All of those games are downloadable, free, and failing that very cheap.
I'll second The Shivah, and Blackwall Legacy as well. Fantastically written.
