Anyone know of any good games that don't cost too much because none of the newer game's seem to be worth paying £40. (preferably Xbox games)

Preferably new-ish games as iv'e played most suggestions i've had so far... but a few in there i hadn't considered

Well, in case you like older games, there's a whole homepage filled with them right here.

As for other suggestions, used games on sites like Amazon can be pretty cheap if they're not brand new. Also, Steam has a summer sale coming up pretty soon, which should have a lot of great games on sale.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see you preferred Xbox games. Still, Amazon can still be of use there, I bought quite a lot of used PS3 games on there without any problems, you should be able to do the same for Xbox games.

Alone in the Dark? That has to be one of the most awful games I ever played, wouldn't even recommend that to my worst enemy...

Dead Space, Mass Effect 1+2, Fallout 3, Bioshock. The gotta be a bargin now and every single one of them are awesome

Saints Row 2 is $20AUD and it is a really good game like Grand Theft Auto except over the top fun.
There is allot of customisation in Character creation and Gang looks.

Download Steam.

Buy Serious Sam HD 2: Second encounter.

$15 for a seriously fun game. or Minecraft.

Summer sale is soon? DAMMIT steam I still need to pre order Battlefield and Skyrim, how am I going to do that if you keep bombing me with great offers? >.>
It's a guess, but I think it's a pretty good guess. The summer same last year was around the end of June, so I don't see why they would mess around with that too much. They wouldn't want us to go outside, to get eaten by sharks or anything, now would they?

But yea, I agree with you, I still haven't played all the games I bought during the winter sale, but I'm at least making some headway!

Two games I've enjoyed that I've noticed are really cheap these days are Mirror's Edge and Wet.
I'd probably say Mirror's Edge is a little better, but Wet is just mindless fun. And everyone loves a little mindless fun.

Then again, I think they're cheap because most people didn't like 'em, so the chances are you might not either. But hey, they're cheap, you have little to lose.

I got Far Cry 2 for £5, despite all it's flaws, it's still actually really fun, especially for that cheap price

If you do not have the Orange Box already, GET IT. Preferably for PC but there's the 360 version too.

Brutal Legend, Mirror's Edge and The Orange Box are three great 360 games that should be VERY cheap now (I'm talking £10 cheap). If you don't have any of those, you should really give them a look.

Oblivion, should be fairly cheap, even for all the DLCs included, if you like racing games the Burnout Paradise Ultimate box should be around £14, Bioshock I've seen for £7, Knights of the Old Republic. even though it is an old Xbox game is still worth checking out, as is basically any Bioware RPG, if you like that sort of thing

If you like online FPS's and own a PS3 then you can pick up MAG for pretty cheap.

Graphics aren't all that great but playing in a match with 255 other people is truly a unique experience.

On the Xbox side, I second Condemned: Criminal Origins. One of the scariest games ever made. the sequel is pretty good too. I little more shooter-y but still good.

Saints Row 2 is also a great, fun game. Better than GTAIV in my opinion.

Left 4 Dead is pretty cheap these days. the sequels cheap too.

There are also a ton of games on sale at K-Mart right now.
