Ross Noble, seeing him this weekend can't wait!!!
He's brilliant, remember to take a gift (the stupider the better) and leave it on stage a the interval! He loves his gifts.

Patton Oswalt. Other good choices on the forum thus far, but Patton hasn't been mentioned that I've seen.

Kyle Cease is awesome.

Anthony Jeselnik is good, but not if you're into shock humor because some of his jokes are like that.

Mike Birbiglia is good, I hear him on NPR a lot.

Flight of the Conchords even though their musicians I consider them comedians.

If you are a lazy food-loving son of a ***** that enjoys humor related to those subjects, then go to Youtube.

Now.

And then search for Jim Gaffigan.

Best comedian I've seen on Comedy Central by far.
I cannot agree with this enough.

Bill Hicks - very in the vein of George Carlin and as more of an inspiration to Denis O'Leary than he's probably admit.
Steve Hughes - very funny man from Austraila and was also the drummer in some metal bands.
Eddie Izzard - you cant go wrong with this guy.

Brian Regan is one of my favorites, far and away, but even if you don't check out anything else, check out Pablo Francisco's Movie Previews act. He does an amazing impression of the late Don La Fontaine, which he uses to great effect for his own made up preview.

OMFG and you found my favorite joke of hers, "I can't go out I'm filthy." "Take a shower." "NO! It's on the inside!"

Darn, ninja'd. I was going to suggest Lewis Black. Hm, have you ever seen Chris Rock or Dane Cook? They are quite funny too, at least in my opinion. :)
Dane Cook is one I will never understand - watching him just makes me angry xD

OT: Greg Davies.

Love him, hate We Are Klang.
