Strange Journey is far surperior to the first two games in the SMT series, that's for sure. Granted, the original games were made waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the 90's and whatnot, but the interface, battle system... everything is just glorious. I feel that when they remake the first two games for the USA, they will be brought up to date.
As for weakness, depends where you're coming from. If you compare it to the Persona series, no, you won't get as good story. But SMT isn't so much story intense as Persona is (especially 3 and 4). Comparing it to Nocturne is... well not exactly an apt comparison IMO because one is for the PS2, one is for the DS. Clearly, most people would like Nocturne over Strange Journey, but SJ has it's own charm, and I liked the story myself. If you like the SMT series, you'll like SJ.
PM Me if you want a more detailed review of it, I dont' want to let the thread get all hijackedish.
But as been said before, the DS has one of the best gaming libraries avaliable, sans the PS2's... possibly the PC's too if you want to throw that in there.
