XIII. Game ends on a ferocious cliffhanger, not to mention they only covered the comic books first story-arc. :(

I rarely think games need sequels if they present me with a complete narrative. Games like Shadow of the Colossus don't need sequels. It's really just the games that present me with an incomplete narrative only to have the company not continue that I really feel need sequels. At the moment I can only really think of The Longest Journey series and Beyond Good and Evil for this kind of thing. BG&E leaves you with a cliffhanger and Dreamfall leaves you with only a few of its loose ends tied up with heavy hints of more to come.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System: fun 3rd person shooter where you were a unique robots killing humourously voiced robots. It had this wicked sense of humour and just fun gameplay...plus listening to Krunk swear was fantastic.
I was hoping I could be the first one to post that game. It left itself open ended but never got a sequel and it was just FUCKING AWESOME. Hosed and Screwed you died a valiant death.

Shadowrun. SNES and Genesis versions. I want my current gen Shadowrun RPG!!!!!

I'm not done reading through the thread....and I'm dying to go on about Too Human which I love and REALLY want a sequel to (but not sure yet if anyone has mentioned it).

but I HAD to respond to this one. I SO want a good shadowrun RPG. The Muds that were out for it were never that good and the Shadowrun Multiplayer game for the Xbox was total carp.

We NEEEEED a good shadowrun RPG.......seriously it would rule hard.

There are some semi-cyber punk like games like the Dues Ex series that are a step in the right direction....but a true good Shadowrun RPG like the Sega version (my favorite) or the SNES version (still great) only on the PS3, Xbox 360 or even the Wii (or a good PC game I guess)....would seriously rule.

Massive points for the suggestion. Now if someone would just actually make one!!

Ok, I have read through all the threads now and besides Viivrabe quickly mentioning Too Human nobody has really gone into why a sequel should be made.

I consider Too Human to be one of the most under-rated games I have ever played. It's in my top 10 of all times and the only game in that top 10 that wasn't a huge success. I compare it to the original Phantasy Star Online and Diablo 2......In fact those are my top 3 games in play time pretty much.

The game was an action based version of D2 in many ways that involved skill more then any other game of it's type. Sadly many players never bothered to actually become skilled at the game so it flopped.

Due to it's bad reviews and sales a sequel (or even any DLC for the original) has been shelved and we still have no official information on if the rest of the trilogy will ever be made.

It is really sad that more people have not given the game a chance. You can get it for $10 almost anywhere now and honestly I can't think of a better $10 you could spend. That game is awesome in so many ways.

A sequel that included large scale multiplayer (team based) combat and increased the level limit along with a few other tweaks and fixes would be insane. If they went all Blizzard on it and had ladders etc I bet the game could rival or even surpass D2's insane player base and longevity.

While Too Human did have faults and things that could have been fixed with patches or DLC, so did games like Diablo 2 originally. It took work over time to make it the awesome game that captivated the time of so many millions of players. Too Human never got that chance which is very sad...and worse the production of a sequel was stopped as well.

It there is one game over all others that I really want to see given another chance it's Too Human. I'd pre-order the next 2 games right now if I had the option.

I post this on every thread I can, regardless of how related it is.
Maybe IO will grow a mind and make this now. An amazing game, with pretty in depth mechanics.
Although it will probably sell out to the HQ Graphics crowd, and shoot all inovation in the foot. Aw.
I was just thinking the other day how I wish there was a sequel or even a remake for the 360.

Pariah? Though that was really Quake clone if you think about it. Half Life 2? Maybe...

A remake! I could go with that, provided all they did was tighten the controls and improve the graphics!
Kepp the story - that had character growth - the guy went from self defence to defending his family to revenge to hero, all really smoothly. No "I just want to be out of this oh look I'm the chosen one" crap.
A "retelling" would kill things, probably removing the "get C4 - blow helicopter - strike facility" optional stuff for the linear high quality graphics stuff. I still hold out hope that a sequel would be made, and make the most of the optional missions that, more then anything, gave you a reason NOT to do them, if you get what I mean. Usually I would go for the optional missions in all games, as they make things easier for you, but in FF, sometimes you didn't have the health kits to manage it, so just ran the chopper. One smooth game. Might get it for the xbox or PC

I may have said this before, but The Legend of Dragoon definitely needs a sequel. First RPG I ever played, got me into RPGs, and is the reason that Final Fantasy XIII is on my shelf right now...

On second thoughts, you have a lot to answer for, Legend of The Dragoon.

Homeworld 2 and Metal Fatigue.
Even though probably none of you have heard about the latter.

Fallout Tactics..... well not the best game, but the sequel they had planned would of corrected all of its issues and been kick-arse.

Perfect Dark.

It needs a sequel.

Period.
God, another one? Haven't they made enough?
Perfect Dark never technically got any sequels. It had two prequels and a remake (Perfect Dark for the GBC, Perfect Dark Zero for the 360 and Perfect Dark the XBLA remake). Zero, if you want to get really technical, had sequels, but only in the written form with Initial Vector, Janus' Tears and Second Front (I highly recommend hunting down these works, as they are easily the best stories for the series and are my favorite books of all time).

You play as a ghost, and you possess things to solve puzzles and kill guards, it's fucking amazing

Already said was Psychonauts, and honestly, Dante's Inferno deserves a sequel, if anything, to see how it gets promo'd.

Sly Cooper 2

Yes, there is a sly Cooper 3, but it doesn't have the same feel as Sly 2. Sly 2 broke up the team at points and was about enormous heists. 3 was about sabotage and recruitment. I want another game where the first 40 minutes of gameplay is sneaking around, planting stuff, spying on the targets, building a plan, then executing it and beating a disco lizard with what can basically called a Pimp cane. 3 was about 1 heist, and it was good, but I liked 2 best and want to see mini giant heists
