This is why I love fighting games like Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom 2.
Games like that almost never get boring once you finish through the main story (Considering there is one) I never get tired of playing games like that (Unless it's one of them days.), and soon I'm gonna get me Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. Does anybody else have this game? If so, what is it like?

If there is one good game I have to pick, it has to be Grandia 2. There are virtually no sidequests or anything, but the gameplay and the story was awesome. I just hope they bring back that series soon... :(
OMG thats one of my favorite games EVER :D

As much as I loved it (clue: it was my favourite game of 2009 despite the fact that I only borrowed it), I doubt I'll ever replay Assassin's Creed 2 unless I decide to get the DLC and borrow the game disc from someone. Same goes for Bioshock (been meaning to, can't be bothered) and Bioshock 2 (done with the story, have no interest in the multiplayer, only borrowed so I don't have it anyway).

All visual novels I guess. Ace Attorney and Type-Moon games comes to mind.

Funny, Borderlands really shouldn't have replay value but I play it like crazy anyway. Maybe because I want a good Masher.
I agree, it's the same thing for Heavy Rain; once you know who did it, how, and why, there's really no reason to continue.

that being said, borderlands makes leveling up fun because you get to shoot things

Darksiders comes to mind. I had a lot of fun with that one, but once you've found all the treasures and beat the final boss you've exhausted everything the game has to offer.

I love it when games let you play with your most powerful toys right from the start on replays - that's probably why I played the hell out of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner.

Arkham Asylum and Metro for me, I just can't replay them again. All that's left is achievements for Metro. I did EVERYTING there was too do in Arkham Asylum, which is suprising, as I'm not really into collecting stuff that doesn't do a lot. (E.g. Those damn flags in AC)

I can't think of any at the moment, but I generally find ways to make replays more enjoyable i.e. limiting weapons I can use, finding the most roundabout way possible to get through etc.

neverwinter nights: the ability to jump straight to the best parts meant there was no reason to slog through the damn "find the cure" part and the "find the magic words(which are made of stone!?)" sandbox.

Bioshock. Especially since it was soo easy.
damn, ninja'd lol
ninja'd my ninja'd...
Yeah Bioshock was a fantastic game and had a awesome story. BUT when you know the story and who all the mystery people are and the plot twists are ruined... then it was a horrible game. I guess it was because the game was very linear, and the way you played it the first go through was the way you wanted to play it(crossbow is ridiculous.) made it bad.
But to me Bioshock 2 had even less replay value.
Actually, I think the crossbow is the reason Bioshock was damn easy in the first place. One well placed shot was an insta-kill on most Splicers, and it could even take out a chunk of health on Big Daddies. The damn thing was too OP.

Oblivion and Fallout 3. As good as they are I cannot bring myself to play them again. They just absorb so much time that I can't justify losing again, and the crashing every 30mins when trying to explore the world/wasteland is just demoralizing. I must have spent the same amount of time reloading the game as my playtime, damn Bethesda!

I tend to stay away from games like this. For t he people who said Bioshock though I have to disagree. Only because you can play through the game differently each time depending on the weapon/pasmid combos that you use.

Subversion time.
Ratchet and Clank games. ANY of them (except maybe the first. cant remember)
Finished the main game? Heres challenge mode.
Start the game from the beginning.
Every kill adds a Bolt (currency) multipler until you get injured. (max 20)
You keep all of the weapons you collected during the game.
For a hell of a lot of Bolts you can get the Rip You a New One (R.Y.N.O for short) which is either a miniture nuke launcher or a rapid fire missle launcher. Or a combination of the two.
Using it is IMMENSLY satisfying.

you just named the games with most replay value ever!

people have over 500 hours on that game on 20 different charter files. probably even more.

From my own experience, I'd say Fable 2. After I beat it, I really had no motivation to play through it again.

Any of the Metal Gear series. The story and game play has always been above average. However, you can only go through it once, maybe twice, before it gets a bit boring.

You could argue that MGS4 has more replay value than the others because of the rewards for different titles, but I can't bring myself to go through it a third time because I already know what's going to happen.

Replay value depends on the person, though. Some people are happy playing the same story over and over.

Unfortunately I have to agree here because some of the cases are just.. oh my god they're amazing the first time and then it's like "do I REALLY wanna put myself through this again?"
