Killing Floor

The story can be summed up as "Mutant clones are coming out of underground labs so kill them" but the game is so fun I don't really care.

Anything in the NES days (mostly anything) and you know why

Bad dudes VS Dragon Ninja

Although even if the plot is bad, it's still awesome.

Ultima 9

Its eerie...this game is a horrible incomplete mess filled with crashes, glitches, and plot stopping bugs but...I still want to play it. I cant finish a FF game, a perfectly complete unbroken game but I want to play Ultima 9
Its actually more interesting then killing Sin or saving Dalmasca

the story is terrabad but its weirdly compelling with the horrific voice acting setting the mood perfectly (liek srsly luuk et up)

lost odyssey, fun rpg, HORRIBLE plot
Ok, you might want to explain exactly why - sure there were some plot holes, but the overall storyline and characterization were top notch.

I would have to repeat previous suggestions of the Kingdom Hearts series, and add Sacred 2. A fantastic hack-and-slash, but the story is presented in such a boring manner, and just seems to meander meaninglessly around - it's simply there to make you travel to all the different areas on the massive game map...
i would have to agree on the lost odyssey, the plot had its holes but overall was a rich and well developed storyline imo, especially the thousand dream things holy piss how long that must have taken to write out

but sadly i like the kingdom hearts stuff, maybe just nostalgia since i played it when i was younger but i understood hte story and i liked it alot actually, the gummi ship design was kind of fun so traveling from planet to planet was like a star fox intertwined with awesome hack n slasher
Lost odyssey was like taking an interesting ideas: immortal soldier and magic being newly discovered, taking them out of context, and them slamming it with the worst cliches you could possibly think of. *SPOILER* Evil dude bent on world domination, evil dude responsible for destroying main characters family, evil dude from parallel universe (along with all other immortals of which there are several) and now bent on ruining the space time continuem to become a God-like figure.

Don't get me wrong, I said the game was fun, and I felt it was a solid all around rpg, and I won't bash the thousand dreams sequences because i thought they were neat, and the game reminded me of Baiten Kaitos for some reason.

As a final note, as I argued in the FF13 review, there is nothing wrong with linearity, but it's funny how nobody seemed to notice how linear Lost Odyssey is.

Any Tri-Ace game
Any Capcom game
Infamous

Bad games with good plots

Xenosaga Trilogy

I may edit this post if I can think of any more.
ANY Tri-Ace game? I wonder how many you've played, the plot for Valkyrie profile: Covenant of the Plume was great, even if the game was ridiculously hard to the point of making Fire Emblem look easy, so was Star Ocean: till the end of Time, and Star Ocean: Second Story (or Second Evolution for the PSP version), I thought Radiata Stories was pretty good, and that's about a quarter of their games, so that argument falls a little flat.

i will not disagree about the linearity, it is very linear, anytime i wanted to go off and do something of my own even for a bit it basically couldn't happen, and im glad you also appreciate the thousand dreams thing because while i dont usually like reading too much, i gotta say "damn, thats a dedicated gamer/writer", because each story was a good 5 pages of text on average and they were all very unique

the game was fun, the whole way you gained experience was a little iffy imo, but otherwise loved the game

State of Emergency. To this day, I'm not sure what the aim was, I think it was to take out the government or some crap like that, but was mostly just utter carnage.

Conversely (Puts up flame shield) Need For Speed: Undercover. The story was pretty good in the sensethat you're undercover trying to take down a gang and all that. But the cops had cars powered by jet fuel and the races were incredibly easy for about half the game and then became literally impossible. It had a difficultly curve like the cliffs of Dover. It annoyed me you couldn't sell parts of your car either, so you'd spend loads doing up one car, complete a race, then realise your car is too shit for the next set of races, and you have to buy a new one, which is also shit and you can't afford to mod because you spent it all on the previous car. FFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-

Anyways, that's my input :)
