I've been somewhat fascinated with Japanese Tokusatsu for a while now, and one of the most iconic franchises is the Kamen Rider franchise. Anyone know a good series to break in to the franchise with?
Isn't that on 4Chan?, I'm paranoid about using 4Chan (my laptop is the last one I'll ever get without spending my own cash for one, so I don't want to risk breaking it).Marik2 said:Go to /m/ they always talk about Kamen Rider and Japanese tokusatsu
Yes and 4chan isn't scary like in the early 2000s. /m/ is the mecha board and they love Japanese tokusatsu and usually have links in how to watch them.DarklordKyo said:Isn't that on 4Chan?, I'm paranoid about using 4Chan (my laptop is the last one I'll ever get without spending my own cash for one, so I don't want to risk breaking it).Marik2 said:Go to /m/ they always talk about Kamen Rider and Japanese tokusatsu
K, in a related note, is KissAsian a safe streaming site?, because the only other way I can watch something Kamen Rider related is to buy DVD sets off Amazon.Ahoge-dono said:I recommend anything starting in the Heisei era (Anything starting from 1989 after Kamen Rider Black). Though a lot of older fans do find Kamen Rider Black RX to be one of their favorites. Me personally, Blade and Faiz are two of my favorite series though admittedly they're a little dark in theme. If you want something more lighthearted I'd go with Den-O, W, Fourze, and Drive. Den-O especially is great if you're an anime lover since half the cast employs very well known voice actors in the industry.
Personally I started (and ended) with Kamen Rider W. I enjoyed the series but never really managed to find another one to pick up afterwards, and because of that I may have a degree of Bias towards it. Still I thought it was interesting, with a balance between that sorta campy charm and some actually serious and cool moments.DarklordKyo said:I've been somewhat fascinated with Japanese Tokusatsu for a while now, and one of the most iconic franchises is the Kamen Rider franchise.
