How is it no one mentioned any of the old Shaw Brothers films such as Five Deadly Venoms, The One Armed Swordsman, Brave Archer, and The 36th Chamber of Shaolin?

I love Fearless. The story felt a little schizophrenic in places, and seemed to meander a little towards the middle. But something about it pulled me in and I had a blast watching it. The fight scenes are fantastic, too; just over the top enough to be cool, without being silly.
It also helps that the Jet Li character, Huo Yuanjia was a real person. The story shown in the film is a dramatisation of some of his most famous fights. He never did fight the Russian wrestler though. He chickened out once he caught work Huo Yuanjia wanted him after he had insulted the chinese.

I'd go older and say the Shichinin no samurai, Yojimbo, Sanjuro and most of the other films Akira Kurosawa made with Toshiro Mifune.

"Unleashed" with Jet Li and Bob Hoskins is fantastic. It's a martial arts movie, but the story is actually really touching and tragic. For those who like a bit of adramatic substance with their kung-pow chicken.

"Versus" it's a Japanese gangster/martial arts/zombie movie.

It's pretty crazy (it's a bit like "Equilibrium" in Japanese - with the undead). Someone gets their head kicked off. That's really all you need to know.

Also "Brotherhood of the Wolf" is worth a look. Very good Canadian flick with a rampaging Native American kicking butt in France.

Haha. The same Tony Jaa movie has been recommended with four different titles. Tom-Yum-Goong, The Protector, Warrior King, The Warrior are all the same movie with different regional titles.
Favourite scene: 50 consecutive arm/leg breaks.
You don't get between Tony Jaa and his elephants.

I'm also going to recommend Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer for more light-hearted martial arts movies.
^This^ Both these movies were directed by Stephen Chow if my memory's correct AND he is the main character for both the movies. Very funny movies but if you're into actual martial-arts movies and not comedies than Ip Man should serve you well.

So, I'm in need of some movie suggestions. I've been going through a Martial-arts movie phase, so anything like that would be nice. I've never really been fond of the movies where the use of wires is obvious though. Like, Crouching tiger, Hidden dragon. An example of a Martial-arts movie I enjoy, would be Ong-Bak. Although, I'm open to anything really.
Chocolate
Raging Phoenix

Ong-Bak 2
Tom Yum Goong (The Protector) (These four are all either Tony Jaa, or Jaa related).

Aaaand those are the only ones I've seen lately.

Well I am ninja'd about everything. You can try "Restless". This one use wires, but it has some very very good moves, though the movie is all about the story. Oh, and it's Korean.

Stephen Chow is a master of comedy kung fu.
