Holy fucking shitballs!! That's some powerful necromancy, bringing the twice slain corpse back from the dead.

OT: I'm fairly sure that after 4 years the OP has found themselves a good medieval RPG, so I feel little need to suggest one.

Gothic 1 and 2 (maybe 3, there's also 4 but they kind of screwed it up). There's nothing more to say but PLAY IT!

You've already played Oblivion---try Morrowind, it's like Oblivion but a much crisper gameplay experience and no immersion-breaking Uncanny Valley stuff. Game of the Year edition's still sold at retail, only $20.

EDIT: Also, search for Thy Dungeonman.

Ye can't get ye flask.
Apparently it was a load-bearing flask.

If you really want to get old-school, chase down a copy of Daggerfall on an abandonware site and get it to run in DOSBox. There are old DOS diehards who thought Morrowind was dumbed down.
The faces might not be uncanny valley but they are hideous without the overhaul. rather than Oblivion's big puddles of goo it is extremely angled. Seriously the Dunmer's faces were triangles. How is morrrowind's gameplay crisper? I swing my sword at something 1 million times and if I am lucky it hits once, that is annoying not crisp also the animations are still bad with the overhaul, and spears are annoying because you have to be moving to thrust, so to be any good with a spear I have to keep moving and moving and moving, once again annoying not crisp. I am sure Morrowind is good but the first hour really doesn't show it, I still liked Oblivion in the first hour, morrowind has me quitting out of annoyance in the first hour(I loved it later once I realized that it is an open world game, never played one of those before).

Edit: I did not realize I was helping in this foul necromancy. I hope I don't end up like Manimarco, the King of Worms.

Inquisitor......I'll wait.

It's rather awesome in many many ways, it's also insanely harsh.

I quite like Dark Souls (haven't played Demon's souls, being that it's not on the 360), and that's a swords and sometimes sorcery affair with a ton of weapon and playstyles.

You are aware that there's an option to "Always Use Best Attack"... Right?
Thus, you are able to always thrust with a Spear, regardless of if/how you were moving.

Mount and Blade.

It rocks. Lots of mods out there. The Lord of the Rings mod is especially well done.

I was wondering why no one was mentioning Skyrim...

Then I saw the date.
I think we got a necromancer on the forums.

No, no I wasn't aware of that. I will have to turn that on if I feel like giving morrowind a try again.

does anyone know of any good medieval rpgs,
i like the huge sandbox style

Uh, Skyrim? Maybe? Basically "Better Oblivion"?

Alternatively, Magicka is *kind of* an RPG.
