Cloverfield, it is a valentine's day classic.

But seriously, I agree with the Notebook supporters, that and Baz Luhrman's Romeo+Juliet.

It will get you laid my friend.
Worked for me. The missus fell asleep half way through.
I am not a nice person...
Anyway watch english dubbed hentai. It is pathetic enough to be classified as comedy and thus you can laugh through it but it is also porn so will no doubt get her all ready.
Could be entertaining, yes, but I don't really know anyone who gets turned on by Hentai as opposed to ask "What the fuck? Seriously?" :S If I'm trying to get my girlfriend in the mood I use a more subtle touch, usually by rerunning an episode of supernatural where one of the guys gets their top off (crude, but effective)

Irreversible.
If your still together after that, it's either very good or very worrying.

In all seriousness find a film called Powder. Pretty heartbreaking if a little cheesy.

Zack and Miri make a porno.
I thought it was a terrible movie, but it's still sweet and romantic..
Bruce Almighty
Shrek Movies
My best friends girl - it had some funny moments.
And the Evil dead trilogy if she likes gore, plus they're still fucking hilarious

This man seems to want to upset the peace. Why?
Did you fall to pieces after seeing this film and want to inflict it on others?

In all seriousness though a lot of women like films like Troy and 300 as they are able to look away from the carnage and look at all the sweaty beefy men in shorts.
Luckily my girlfriend doesn't need to do that as she can come into my room.

Yes, definitely. I saw it with my flatmates and loved it (as a guy I guess I shouldn't really admit that...), but it's a brilliant movie to see with your girlfriend too. Failing that, most 'chick flicks' (which I don't often mind, with the exception of Sex in the City), or either of the following:

- Romeo + Juliet (the modern, Baz Luhrman version)
- 10 Things I Hate About You

I saw the first one, have the DVD and it's awesome. I really want to see the second, my ex-girlfriend was going to visit me at university this year (we stayed friends for ages after we split, still friends now) and bring those both for us to watch together, sadly she had to drop out of visiting at the last minute... :(

Twilight! Hahahaha.

No.
Just though I should emphasize that point in your post...

I, on the other hand, have never had a girlfriend, and as such, have little to contribute on the basis of hard evidence, but from what I've heard, romantic movies aren't always a winner, be a little more original, and a tad creative. I mean, you should know her well enough not to chose certain ones.

First, don't ask her what she wants to watch. Twenty bucks she says 'I dunno, whatever YOU want to see.' or something on those lines

I would go with Cold Mountain or the Notebook if you want boob tonight.
I fucking hate that aye. My kingdom for a decisive woman!

Wall-E: It's cute and has an adorable little love story that will make you seem childish but in a way that she'll like.
Back to the future: Good movie, no issues that can upset her, and everyone likes this movie.
Ferris Buellers day off: Same as before.
Other than that comedies are always good, as long as you know her tastes. Pineapple express or Death at a funeral for more individual tastes or Shaun of the dead for a good if a bit plain time.

Feel-good films are always good. Stuff like Shawshank Redemption and Slumdog Millionaire are good ones to watch.

As long as it isn't something like Schindler's List you ought to be okay.
