Good movies you admit are good but dislike anyway

Okay, so everyone knows there are good movies and there are bad movies. However, our opinions of movie quality sometimes don't mesh up with our actual opinions of a movie. I mean, we all know some bad movies that we love anyway. Hell, the entire Evil Dead series is nothing if not at the top of the list in this category. Well, if we know that there are bad movies that we love anyway, then the logical opposite extreme should also exist, right? Name some good movies that you just don't enjoy at all, even though you know they're good.

Mine is "No Country for Old Men" I watched it, saw how fantastic the pacing and scenery were... and yet at the end I just could not bring myself to enjoy it at all. The entire movie was a fantastic fruit pie, incredibly well made and presumably delicious... to someone who likes fruit pies, which I guess I don't.

D.W. Griffith's Birth of a Nation - without a doubt one of the single most important and influential films ever made, but that didn't stop me from being bored to tears throughout most of the film.

Tried watching Citizen Kane once... I just don't have the patience for it. Supposed to be the best movie ever made but I found it boring the one time I tried watching it on TV. Maybe if I was in a different mood I could give it enough of a chance, there are plenty of other old black and white movies that I've enjoyed before.

Rocky. It even won the Oscar. I just couldn't get past the bad boxing. Boxing does not look like that. Not every punch lands. If one fighter landed that many punches in the first round the ref would stop the fight. And in Rocky, both were landing that many punches... every round or so. Supposedly it's not about boxing. Total cop-out b.s. that excuse is. The boxing was "amped up" with way more punches landing and more damage done to make it less boring. If it "wasn't about boxing" they could have made the boxing more realistic and the story would not have changed one bit.

James Cameron's Avatar. I've tried to sit through it and, though it is decent, I just can't force myself to care for two friggin' hours.

The Deer Hunter. Awesome story and acting, but I won't watch it because its way too damn long and has several parts that are really boring. >_<

"Get Him to the Greek"
It had a few good moments, but I just didn't care for it.

It is rather long, and the newest version is even longer - oh joy!
That's why I'm going to take the time to NOT watch it and watch a movie I'd enjoy like Snatch or finish watching Gurren Lagann vol. 1. Retry some old anime that I've watched before and then forgot about.

Oh jeez. Three movies come to mind:

Bambi,
Jurassic Park,
ANY sports-related movie that has a solid plot and characters (IE: The Mighty Ducks, Radio, Remember the Giants, Friday Night Lights... ext.))

Two examples from opposite ends of the spectrum:

Thirteen and Scarface

I hated both, but admit both are incredible films.

Bowling For Columbine. Honestly, it has good interviews, funny skits/animations, and it was interesting all around.

The only issue I have with it is that it's painfully one-sided.

I can't help it, I prefer documentaries where they try to see two opposing points of view, in the case of that movie it could've been seeing both the point of view of people who love guns and don't want to give up their american right to possess them, and of course, the point of views from people who feel that there should be harsher laws on gun control. Instead it takes the attempted noble/bleeding heart approach.

DEAR LORD THIS. I understand that it couldn't have been a terrible movie if it won an Oscar. But I could not sit through that movie without wanting to smash my head against a wall every time he spoke. I hate that entire series with a passion.

And both my answers have been ninja'd.

I guess I'll say Casablanca. We watched it in a Lit and Film class for school because its supposed to be one of the great old movies but I just found it boring

Dances with wolves.
Great acting, beautiful locations and a bloody snorefest for me.

Just go watch Dances with Wolves and change all of the proper nouns to ones from Avatar and there you go...

OT: To Kill a Mocking Bird... I just can't get through it... I've read the book before no problem and liked it but I just found the movie so... bleak...
