Hm, while I'm still leaning toward a Water Dragon, I may go with another type of lizard. Most of these names still work though.

Chase, the Dragon! or perhaps Leonard Scruffy Dragonovic....
However don't mind me, i'll grab any opportunity to give a pet a drug-referenced name.

Funny, semi-related story. When my Mom got her last puppy we couldn't think of a name for a long time. We would call our other dogs and say "you too" to call the puppy. After awhile he started responding to it like it was his name. Well, we took him to the Vet for his puppy shots and hadn't picked out anything else so his name is now U-Too.

OT : I tend to think of names based on the pets look or something distinctive that happens to it. Examples : My Mom's last two kittens are named CJ and AJ, after my Mom's initials (CJ) and my Sister and my first names (A and J) as she passed away before choosing their names. My cat is named Walrus as he has over sized fangs that always stick out from the top of his mouth. I would say, bring it home and wait a week. If something doesn't seem to fit, then use one of the ones posted here.

To be exact, a Chinese Water Dragon. I'm getting one tomorrow and am trying to think of a name for it. I know these pet naming threads get pretty creative, which is why I'm asking here.

Hmm...

Quigon?

Painfully adorable: Lord Fuzzums the Third, Cuddles McSofty, or anything else that depicts it as soft and cuddly
Puns: Wet, Aqua, anything pertaining to water , Mr. E (Mystery), Ms. Ery (Misery), nograd (I would pronounce NOG-rad),
Mythical: Bahamut, Tiamat, Jörmungandr, Fafnir, Leviathan, Orochi
Novel: Smaug, Saphira, Norbert

Call him whiskers, as a joke, because that's that's what you'd name a cat.
cookie for reference.
Freeman's Mind!

OT: Aysu or Tiamat if it's female, Brutus or Nereus if it's male
