Good non-FPS PS3 games

I'm looking for a new PS3 game that isn't your standard FPS because there are far too many and I want something new and inventive.

I've played and completed Heavy rain which I loved, any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, new and old games.

Darksiders is quite fun, if you enjoy the Legend of Zelda games. The puzzles are brilliant,and clever. Also, lostplanet 2 is pretty awesome if you want an online co-op experience.
Single player, it's rubbish.

Demon's Souls, as has been said before.
I would also recommend Valkyria Chronicles and Nier. The latter of which I seriously love to bits.
Beware though: Both are Japanese, you might not like the style.
inFamous is always a good choice, though it is slightly shooter-ish.

Ah right, is Neir any good? RPG right? thinking about getting it>_<.

OT: Has noone said mirrors edge? or is it just me that enjoyed it? o_o

Let me put it this way: I hardly ever play games multiple times. I've gotten 3 out of 4 endings for Nier.

It's probably the most inventive game the PS3 has to offer, so if you're going to go for something, go for that.

Most definitely. Also, Valkyria Chronicles and WipEout HD are good if you want something different. If you don't particularly care about inventiveness and just want a really good game, Uncharted 2 is amazing for showing what the PS3 can do graphically. Assassin's Creed II and Red Dead Redemption are pretty fantastic too.

I have to recommend Fatal Inertia EX over WipEout HD, despite all the love the latter gets. Fatal Inertia EX has split screen, and that's a rare thing these days, and is to be cherished.

-Folklore
-Uncharted 2
-Any Ratchet and Clank game.

Those should keep you occupied for a while.

-God Of War 3(of course, ignore if you've disliked any previous God Of War game)
-inFamous(some people hated it though)

<color=purple> Warhawk and Metal Gear Solid 4 are both great third-person shooters exclusively for the PS3. Warhawk is all multiplayer and shouldnt cost you much at all. Definitely worth picking up. Great vehicle play(especially the planes0, so have fun.

Also just found out Fatal Inertia is made by Koei, one of my favorite game companies, so I'll definitely look into it.

Ah, it would seem my info is two years out of date - last I looked into WipEout was right when it was getting released. Fatal Inertia EX beat it to market by a few weeks, and had split screenw hile WipEout didn't.

Also, to the inFamous fanboys. It isn't *boredom* that makes it bad. It's repetition that makes it bad. Also, the HORRID animation and bad models, and the fact that the game has awful ledge detection, so you'll jump over ledges you want to climb on to. In other words: Infamous = 5/10, bad game.
