I recently started playing my PS2 and I have been playing some old gems I haven't looked at for years such as DOOM, Quake 2, Tekken and wipeout. I even got to reconnect with my favourite franchise of all time Crash Bandicoot.

I have a PS3 and I know I could but the games on PSN but i prefer having a physical copy I can play on my PS2 which I bring with me when I travel

I was hoping that the great gaming community could recommend me some more games I could add to my collection that are not too expensive (like some of the final fantasy games).

Your help is really appreciated. :)

Tales of Eternia
Tales of Legendia
Final Fantasy 7/8/9

PS2:
Tales of the Abyss
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
Sly 2: Band of Thieves
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time/Warrior Within/Two Thrones
Chaos Legion
Bujingai: The Forsaken City
Final Fantasy 10/12

That's all I've got for now.

Seeing as Crash Bandicoot is your favorite series I take it you enjoy platformers. You can get the PS2 Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter games really cheap. They go for just a few dollars each.

Could you at least tell us what kind of games you like? Otherwise you'll get the same replies (and most PS2 games are cheap).

Those two games alone will set her back by almost $600 plus shipping, depending on where you buy it of course but I doubt eBay would be cheaper than Amazon.

Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters: Future Perfect. Just an amazing series, got mentioned in another thread and yeah it's just an insanely fun game. Tons of stuff to do, lots of variation, a nice level of challenge/

Yea it seems like alot of good PS1 games can be seriously expensive to buy which is a pity but any too far out of my price range I will try and look for on PSN seeing as I can't get a physical copy. :)

Most of the good games on the PS2 and 1 are jrpgs. So be prepared for that, because there are also a ton of mediocre and terrible jrpgs during the later PS2 era. The Tales of games are generally safe, as are Breath of Fire 3 and 4 (not Dragon Quarter). WildArms games are fun, DragonQuest 8 is fantastic, and the Final Fantasy games are all over the board. There are some lesser known rpgs out there, and that is a whole gamble if you want to take it (for example, Valkyrie Profile is fantastic, but the sequels of it slip into mediocrity).

There are also many other games for the PS1&2, like the Ratchet and Clank series, OniMusha, ResidentEvil, GTA, Way of the Samurai 1 and 2, Okami, the Ico games, as well as some great stealth games like Tenchu and.... Others I can't remember off hand.

A great horror game I've played is the first ClockTower game.

Guilty Gear X (and X2) are good fighter games.

A great PS1 game I love playing is Intelligence Qube. It's a life or death puzzle game. The music is also great. But it's also obscure and I don't know how hard it would be to find.

Some PS1 games, these are all either platformers or FPS series.
Oddworld
Gex
Spyro
Tombi
MediEvil (this one is more of a hack and slash then platformer but still great)
Medal of Honor
Alien Trilogy & Resurrection

Wild 9 is a great PS1 platformer where you have a telekinetic device you can use to throw aliens into fans and shit, it's awesome. It creates some interesting (and comically morbid) puzzles, too. For example, slamming enemies into a bed of spikes to make it safe to walk across.

The PS1 Toy Story 2 game was surprisingly good, as well.

Just about every physical game on PSX that ISN'T on the PlayStation Store is going to cost a ridiculous amount of money. She asked for good games, I listed good games.
