Those two games alone will set her back by almost $600 plus shipping, depending on where you buy it of course but I doubt eBay would be cheaper than Amazon.
Just about every physical game on PSX that ISN'T on the PlayStation Store is going to cost a ridiculous amount of money. She asked for good games, I listed good games.
Well the OP did specify not too expensive, but yeah.

Other than ones that were already mentioned, I recommend the Ace Combat games, in particular 4, 5, and Zero.

Also, anything from the Shin Megami Tensei series (or just anything Atlus) is also worth looking into.

Best of luck with a search like that. I don't do online shopping so I don't know exact prices. Point is, you're not going to find many PSX games for dirt cheap. Mayhap you can post something more helpful to the OP than picking at my post, next time?

Hmmm, Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy go for about $10 used at Gamestop if you're into RPGs. For straight up mindless action, both Lord of the Rings games, The Two Towers and Return of the King are quite good and you can get both of them for around $4. Shadow of the Colossus is very good, but a little more expensive and hard to find (at least around here).

PS1,
Final Fantasy Tactics (although this one may be worth getting the updated HD PSN version.)
Final Fantasy VII

PS2, so much good stuff
Final Fantasy IX, X, X-2 and 12 (ignore the haters they were stunning for their time)
Katamari Damacy
God of War 1 and 2 (once again new HD remake is better on PS3 but when traveling originals are awesome)
Grandia II (if you can survive the bugs of the PS2 port. Dreamcast version was better)
Jak and Daxter
Metal Gear Solid (any)
Beyond Good and Evil
Disgaea 1 and 2
Devil May Cry 1 and 2
Escape from Monkey Island
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 1 and 2
Heroes of Might and Magic, quest for the Dragonbone Staff (a update of the original HoMM known as Kings Bounty. Well worth owning)
Hitman
Ico
Shadow of the Colossus
Goldeneye
Kingdom Hearts
Max Payne
Mary Kate and Ashley Sweet 16
Megaman (any)
Mister Mosquito
Odin Sphere
Okami
Red Dead Revolver
Grand Theft Auto
Resident Evil 4
Soul Caliber 2 and 3
Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2
War of the Monsters

If youre into platformers which are a lot like Zelda.. then Okami is right up your alley.. if you like nail bitingly tough sidescrolling Platformer RPG's then Odin Sphere is a good game.
