Good PS2 Games

Hey guys, question. I've been buying old games that I missed for the PS2 the first time around in the last couple of years. In this time I've gotten Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Killer 7, Fatal Frame, and Silent Hill 2 amongst others.

The next purchases on my list are Persona 4 and Beyond Good and Evil. First, i'd like to ask, has anyone played these and are they good. Second, is there any other suggestions of games I should check out.

I played Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Arc the Lad, Star Ocean, Dark Cloud, Balder's Gate, and Dragon Quest 8 all the first time around. Yeah, I realize that's a lot of JRPGs, but that was pretty much all I played when the PS2 was still releasing shit, i've branched out quite a bit more now.

Zone of enders 2 is real nice, Devil may cry 3, Xenosaga might be a good jrpg for you, Resident evil 4, Metal gear solids, God of wars. Are you leaning towards a certain genre to simplify things?

From the same series as Persona 4, you should try Persona 3: FES and SMT: Nocturne/Lucifer's Call. Persona 4 is really good, though in my opinion Persona 3 is better in fact I'd say it's on my top 5 games of all time list.

Persona 4 is the greatest game of all time so of course you should buy it.

I'm going to recommend Persona 3, Tales of the Abyss, Ar Tonelico 1 + 2, Disgaea 1 + 2 and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner.

God of War 2. Wouldn't hold it against you for picking up the first one beforehand, but know that it's inferior in most ways to its sequel. And its sequel is fucking awesome.

Oh, yeah, forgot about that. I got the collection for PS3.

Not really, I play all kinds of games. I'm not a huge fan of playing FPS games on Playstation systems though. I like the triggers on Xbox better for that. I played Resident Evil 4. A long time ago, I just remember Ashley running in front of my bullets every time. Was definitely thinking about checking out Devil May Cry.

Oh yeah, I played that too. Didn't really care for it, I'm not sure why.

Retry RE4 it's the best of the series and Ashley is smart enough to run behind you most of the time, If you try DMC I recommend just playing 3 DMC1 hasn't aged well at all, I tried playing it just 2 days ago and cried, and 2 was.... well.. ppl just don't wanna talk about 2. ZoE2 is a mech game that plays out very nicely, fights get fast paced but always keep you feeling like you're in control.

The only problem with Retrying RE4 is i'd have to reacquire RE4. The only games i've rebought are FF7, Psychonauts, and JSRF (And JSRF was only because it used to be $1.50 in the GameStop bin).

Also, semi-related, have you tried Bayonetta, and is that any good. The whole concept kind of made me laugh and not take it seriously at first but a lot of people said it's fun but bizarre, and I love bizarre games (like Katamari).

the first 2 were released by nis and they are 2d games with beautiful art, grim grimoire is a rts type of game with probably the best story Ive seen in a game, of if not the best then the top 2, Im not sure how to explain odensphere, check it out on youtube but they are both fantastic games

breath of fire dragon quarter is part of the breath of fire series of rpg games, it plays mostly like a jrpg with turn based combat but its got a much more interesting story then most and you have a essentially a fuck you button to kill bosses but if you use it too much you die, the unique aspect of it is that its a game that you cant win the first time tho but you get to keep some of your items and money so your stronger your subsequent play thoughs and you unlock more of the story each time you play tho it
