Hmmm... Lots of suggests. I'm just going to focus on some of them. Digital Devil Sage. Interesting. May look into that more. I'm not sure I want to get into a whole bunch of big game series though atm. I did play Dark Cloud 2, wasn't really a fan of that game. Surprising since I liked the first one. Godhand is one I wanted to look into. Got all the Fatal Frame games. Got Jak and Dexter, none of the other Jak games though. Final Fantasy X-2.... huh. I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you there sir. I did play that game and lets just say my time with it wasn't all that joyous. Haunting Ground, I'd like to get more input on that. Timesplitters, i've actually never played a Timesplitter game. Do they have a good campaign? Silent Hill 3/Viewtiful Joe both games I wanted to look into. Seem to be getting a lot of suggestions for Zone of Enders...
A amazing game think like a more in depth and focused pokemon game where you use your spare dvd's,cd's and ps2 games to create a unique monster which you then raise and battle. While also deciding it's fitness and food level; simply think princess maker with monsters in a round about way.

Regarding X2
As I said it's a marmite game you tend to love it or hate it, very few merely like or dislike it.
As for the others:
Jak 2 is generally considered the best but the hardest, 3 is probably the worst of the main series but still quite good can't vouch for the spin offs.
Haunting Ground
Not the scariest horror game out there but it does have it's moments,
I don't know how much you know about it so:
You are basically a defenceless young woman trapped in a castle trying to escape.
Your Primary "weapon" is a white alsatian named Hewie that you befriend early on,
However you can't kill your enemies of which there are only one per level, you have to escape from and evade them while looking for keys and the way out.
There's also a few puzzles.
If it interests you I'd definitely give it a try.
Timsplitters
Future Perfect Has a pretty good campaign which can be played split screen with a fair bit of comedy during the story plus plenty of bizarre yet entertaining single player challenges (monkey curling for example)
The multiplayer is awesome however, with a large variety of modes and many optional rules(my favorite being 16 way free for all one hit kill brick only shrink match) and you can play it single player if you want it has bots.
As for 1 & 2 I don't personally know, I've only played FP the other two are owned by a mate.
ZoE
and so you should be, It's pretty damn good if you like that sort of thing.
EDIT: ooh I forgot about it up there but if you'd be willing to dip in to the PS1 library for a bit:
Legacy of Kainin order)
Blood Omen(PS1)
Soul Reaver(PS1)
Soul Reaver 2(PS2)
Blood Omen 2(Alternate timline, PS2)
Defiance(PS2)
Brilliant Games
Amazing (if convoluted story lines)
and tuly Phenominal Voice acting I mean
The only promlem is that he last game got cancelled so there's no real ending :'(
I'd also like to rerecomend Primal not enough people played it when it came out.
Timesplitters: I'm not a huge multiplayer guy in general. But the thing about multiplayer on the PS2 is it's all but completely useless to me. I mean I have 3 controllers but 2 of them are fucked up and it's not impossible but it's very difficult to play with them, unless someone wants to play with a guitar hero controller. Also, my PS2 currently resides at my grandma's house, which I don't have people over at very often.
I may check out Haunting Grounds, I really do like survival horror games.
I just passed Persona 3 this year and it's fantastic! Be warned, however, that any Persona game you play is a large time investment of maybe 100 hours or more. Less if you're really good at managing personas and social links and don't die a lot.
The ratchet & clank games
Mercenaries: Playground of destruction
Destroy all Humans 2
LOTR: ROTK
the GTA games, obviously
Prince Of Persia
the Star Wars Battlefront games
just a few i can think of, although these should keep you going for a bit.
Truth be told I could go on for days about the ups and downs of most of the games in the ps2 library the only games I can think of off the top of my head that haven't been mentioned are:
the .//hack series
dragon warrior VIII (also dragon warrior VII for the ps1 <3)
Oni (though you may hate the controls)
Spiderman 2
and Tokobots plus: mysteries of the karakuri
and also to exeplify the awsomeness of some that have been mentioned
Beyond Good and Evil
Dark Cloud
Jak and Daxter series
Kingdom Hearts series (I've replayed some of them over 3 times)
Ratchet and Clank series
Rogue Galaxies
and Shadow of the Colossus
Gregory Horror Show
Shadow of Rome
Shadow of Memories
Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King
SWAT: Global Strike Team
Rogue Trooper
Psi-Ops
God Hand
ICO
Darkwatch
Maximo
Maximo Vs. The Army of Zin
The Mark of Kri
Sly Raccoon Trilogy
Silent Hill 2
Freak Out
War of The Monsters
The Getaway
Do you like strategy games(dont answer, im not coming back to this thread)
if you do
try "naval ops comander"
its not stategy buts its bad ass
custimization: of warships: whats not to love
Not a huge fan of strategy games... I know you told me not to answer but I decided to anyways.

To each his own.
But I hated running around with party members at 1 HP for lack of Inns and healing potions. Made the experience rather unpleasant. Thankfully, it was a rental and it was returned rather quickly.
