Good PSP Games?

I just bought a PSP yesterday and I don't know what to buy for it. So far I have only bought Final Fantasy Dissidia and I intend to buy Final Fantasy Crisis Core. I play any game genre.

So the main question is: Can you please list some good games worth playing and what genre they are. Thank you for all the help!

If you're the JRPG type and missed them when they were out.

Disgaea, Final Fantasy Tactics Reboot, and the Star Oceans were good.

Here's a game tip: don't patch it. Google homebrew PSP.
I patched mine to the latest version before i found out about it, which means i need to fork out 20 quid for a special battery to homebrew it. This homebrew thing lets you play old games, like SNES classics and stuff.
If you really just want good physical games though, Vice City stories is actually pretty good. The view distance is pretty annoying, but it's like GTA 3 with a few hints of SA gameplay.

Persona 3 Portable.

You'll be set for awhile with that, if it's anywhere near as good as the PS2 version. I actually hear that it's BETTER, in nearly every way.

Star Ocean: Second Evolution

I've heard good things about SO2, but have no experience with the game.

Riviera: The Promised Land

A really unique and great RPG, not terribly long though.

Disgaea, Final Fantasy Tactics Reboot, and the Star Oceans were good.

These, and Wild Arms XF if you like TBS games (Like Disgaea), with a slight difference, Hexagon Grids instead of squares.

The Monster Hunter games are brilliant and they have so much content, if you can deal with using your left index finger to control the camera via the d-pad...

My PSP library pretty much consists of side releases to bigger franchises.
God of War: Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta are both great games, Sparta especially so.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, MGS: Peace Walker (one of the best in the series).
Resistance: Retribution.
Tekken.
I hugely recommend the LocoRoco games, they're weird but a lot of fun if you don't mind loads of colour and very Japanese soundtracks.
And the Sega Mega Drive Collection is pretty good too if you like the older stuff.

Those are some good PSP titles.

Coming out in January~ Is a reboot of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.
Also next year sometime is Monster Hunter Unite Tri. Its a combo of Unite and Tri(Wii).

Well, people have already stated the best RPG's and the MGS games, so there's little for me to say really, although there are a ton of good puzzle games on there like Loco Roco, Potapon, Luminez, etc. It's an underated console, have fun with it

Resistance Retribution is an enjoyable third person shooter with a aiming system that makes shooting on the PSP enjoyable. The two Syphon Filter games are also great. I second others who recommended the LocoRoco series. It's a very charming, fun set of games to play with puzzle and platforming elements.

The two God of War games, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny would be all I have experience with, though I can recommend them all.

Playing through God of War: Ghost of Sparta now, and it's awesome, but I'm afraid my PSP mostly doubles as an overpriced paperweight. As mentioned above it's a fairly huge platform for JRPG's though.

I liked Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. If you enjoyed the other games, you'll probably like it.
Don't worry about understanding the story, I don't think it makes that much sense even if you do have some background knowledge.

Wait...you don't have a PSPGo do you? Because if so, you're gonna be shit out of luck with some of those games as they aren't on the PSN. And admittedly some of these games are rare too so good luck store hunting or finding them at a reasonable price on Ebay or whatever.
