i think Pen and Paper Dungeons and dragons is a good one.

Outside the obvious ones posted I wont bother retyping.

Drakensang the dark eye, Gothic II (possibly III), Diablo II (okay its a hack & slash but shut the hell up), Neverwinter Nights 2 (Specificaly Mask of the Betrayer the expansion one of the best stories ever) and Planescape torment (you WILL need to torrent this to find it, but the company went under loooong ago so its abandonware now)

Arcanum: Of Steamworks And Magick Obscura (love the full titel) isn't been named yet I see. It's graphics aren't woopy-doo, even for a 2001 game (Planescape: Torment was released in 1999 and looks way better) but role-play was it's brilliant. Also it's one of the few good games featuring steampunk.

The Witcher is apparently also pretty good, but I wouldn't know for sure.

Is there ANY chance you know of a magical location where I might find this bountious treasure? I've looked bloody everywhere for it (except eBay. I'm not paying sixty quid for a game that's already been installed on another person's computer and is missing the manual...)

Also, Vampire the Masquerade : Bloodlines. Patch it. Play it. Love it. Seriously, it's near unplayable without patches.

Check Amazon I found Arcanum there for £3.99 okay it was pre-owned but pretty much perfect condition.
