im a big RTS fan but i really dont like base building, my problem with it is 2 fold.
1. it removes from the RTS element's i like, i enjoy leading troops into battle and trying to outwit my opponent and destroy his forces but in base building games i spend allot of time micro-ing my build order, sim city style which i dont find very fun
2. it creates a delayed loss, as in i know that once the enemy has taken that resource den im doomed, he has more resources than me so can create more resource gathering buildings than me, get resources quicker than me, can train more troops/better troops than me and all that remains between him and victory is 10-20 minutes worth of grinding down my defenses (this is equally tedious both ways)
can anyone recommend me some base building free RTS games?
or a RTS game with base building but without these draw backs?
(i have already played total war)
