this is the song getting played at my dads funeral
Yes but if you are a Christian, wanting to get to heaven is the ultimate goal. It's less that he wants to die and more that he is happy that his friend gets to go to heaven. I don't know if you're a Christian but a funeral should be a celebration for the deceased and a time for the ones who are behind to mourn their loss.Gorfias said:Almost perfect, except the guy seems to be saying he can't wait to be dead to be with the departed... not going there!tippy2k2 said:Assuming your family is religious, I always thought this would be a great funeral song
If your family is not religious, I always thought this would just be a badass song at my funeral (though now that I know the story behind it, I probably would not but you don't need to worry about that : ) Also, I don't know what Grandma would think...

Ooooh, I'll ask the wife. Not certain what the lyrics mean, but they may fit... and inserted in your post my favorite version!Viral_Lola said:I always thought this would be a good song for a funeral. It?s one of my favorite songs of all time though.
Very interesting. I'd read that the Church only proscribed suicide much later after having formed as adherents misunderstood some of the Church's message and often just thought, "dang, not having fun at the moment, think I'll go hang out with G-d" which, of course, the Church doesn't want people doing.tippy2k2 said:if you are a Christian, wanting to get to heaven is the ultimate goal. There's really no way to explain it without sounding creepy so I'm just going to stop there before I convince a bunch of Christians to kill themselves...if there is a Christian in the house who can explain it better, have at it.
