Good split screen games for the 360

I recently bought an xbox 360 and 2 controllers so that I can play with my freinds. I was browsing for a good 2 player game but cant find any. The reveiws say its good, but you know the deal with that. I already have L4D and Gears 2. Some help would be appreciated.

it is a lot of fun split screen, we play the first one.
dry dock, with no night vision, is awesome, then they start whining about the overpowered LMG I have a tip use the heavy machine gunner, in the first one it is really overpowered, and if they ***** about that, go for the grenadier, 1 shot kill grenade launcher is nice too.

Yeah I really don't understand why more games don't do this. Its really the only reason why I still play Halo 3.

Both Gears games have good split screen as does Halo 3. However the screen can be a little small when playing with 3 other friedns on the same screen.

Halo 3 is a great split screen game, plus you can go online with your friends and join up with others either in a campaign or social matches. It really is the best split screen game on the console.

Are their any games you can play 4 people on one Xbox360? I got Halo 3 expecting that and was really dissapointed when you can only do all 4 via XboxLIVE. So far the only 4 player/one console game I have played myself is Dead Or Alive 4. Anyone know a good shooter or something of the like that 4 people can play in one place?

Halo 3, without a doubt. I tried playing Left 4 Dead with a friend, and I found that there's simply not enough contrast in the environment to make split screen gaming effect (i.e.- both sides blended visually); the same goes for Gears of War.

Halo 3 may not have the best reputation, but at least it's multiplayer friendly.

My tip in here: don't limit yourself to retail games. Look in xbla.

For example:
Castle Crashers
Doom


Also, Vegas 1 is good, but Vegas 2 is better (coop or terrorist hunt)

An XBL Arcade release of Goldeneye would have sorted this problem. Imagine playing that on live!!!OMG! Real shame about all the ownership issues and that. *sigh*

I didnt really like RE 5. and I dont have XBL yet *the wireless adapter is expensive as hell*. But aside from that, I appreciate the help. keep it up.

I enjoy playing locally Halo 3 occasionally, CoD 4 + W@W, although W@W's co-op has a bizarre aspect ratio.
