Why are they always doctors, professors or various military ranks? There's so many other titles for example my city of heroes/villains characters; Chairman Slammer and Duke Silence (a ninja covered with barbed wire)
Once; I shit you not. I spent a day at my high school (for a homecoming day gimmick) with a red cape, goggles, and a rubber bass. I walked around and told them I was Capt. South and that this? this was my Lofty Fish of Justice. (which had Justice written on the side in magic marker)
I was also in an over the top metal band (think a crappy version of GWAR) where my stage name was 'Baron Von Fetus'

I had an idea for a vigilante team, called Yin and Yang, Yin tries to help the victim, while Yang chases the bad guys down. It's obvious what colour their costumes would be. Or another one is "Iron Vengeance"
