So I seem to have a surprisingly lack of bongela around the same time I get a big ol' ulcer on my tongue.
I swirled some salt water in my mouth, but I know it'll come back, with a vengeance.

Any techniques?

If you've got any garlic around, rub it on the ulcer (and with the salt water thingy, warm it up before rinsing your mouth with it).

I've heard that putting ketchup on the ulcer will get rid of it. Of course acidic foods make them appear too. Just to be different from everyone else's answers.

I always used salt water or numbing ointment from the pharmacy, now i just ignore them.

They say that L-Lysine helps. Then again, "they" say a lot of things.

That'll help prevent them and make 'em go away faster in my experience, but as for when you do get them... numbing products are good.

My parents are professional vets with a lot of medical experience and they say Bicarbonate of soda on the ulcer (baking soda is the normal name I THINK) helps. Not too much, on the ulcer, press it there for a longish time (at least 30 seconds), then spit it out, because You may feel slightly sick if you mix all that bicarb with the acid in your stomach :p

So Bicarb to ulcer > 30 seconds > spit out bicarb > rinse mouth with water > repeat as necessary.

My brother gets ulcers often, and this always works.
