No, no, I'm not leaving permanently--as if anyone cared--I'm just going on a hardcore diet for the month of December to focus on my finals. Going to have to block this site, YouTube, and a couple of others from my router so I don't reflexively check any of these while working.

So, my fellow Escapists, what's the most extreme thing you've done to get yourselves to study? I'll check back on this thread after a month.

Wish me luck.

Au revoir.

I've never done anything more extreme than, you know, not going online to study. Which is what I do if I ever actually need to study because I don't actually feel compelled to go to these sites. The motivation of "if I fail, I might not pass" is enough to block those temptations.

But more power to you for realizing that's what you need to do to force yourself to study.

Good luck! I generally don't do crazy stuff to study, but there have definitely been a few nights where I've pounded down multiple canned expressos (disgusting things) over the course of an all-night writing session.

Dont worry, im sure all the endless skyrim threads and "brony war" threads will still be going when you return.

Good bye person who has Yatzee's avatar like oh so many others, thus I could never identify you, I'll still be thinking you never left when you return.

But I am also chuckling because you are wasting one month of your pub club membership.
This actually raises a question that I've been wondering for awhile. Maybe a pub club member can help, or someone who scrolls through can.

If you paid for the membership and you get perma-banned before it runs out, do you get any of your money back, or do you just end up financing a site that you aren't allowed to frequent anymore?

I think you are just banned from the forums. I wouldn't think you would be banned from logging into your account though. So you will still get HD videos and no ads.

I've been doing night before cramming for the last 7 years and its been working out fantastically well so far. I see no reason to stop.

Ah. Ok, cool. My record is still clean, so I've never had to find out myself. Just one of those little things I've wondered for awhile. Thanks.

I maintain two Internet browsers: Firefox with bookmarks and add-ons for screwing around (as in now) and Chrome with timer and to-do list apps and no bookmarks other than those pertaining to work and school.

Good luck!

uh, the most extreme thing I've done is deactivate Facebook, just because I want time away from it.
