My school just had a string of power-outages. Do you think this might have something to do with it?

Then there are most likely script blocks/webfilter blocking your youtube viewing, learn how to use web proxies to bypass filtering and such.

Also taken by your posts you're not too tech savvy?

I go to college, so I'm using my school's WiFi service. Last time we had a power-outage, the school's internet was acting funny for about 5 hours.

Whiny kid is whiny. Did you at least try to troubleshoot or just do a general google search before posting a passive aggressive thread on a gaming website's forum ?

So yeah troubleshoot first if nothing helps reinstall Chrome or just get Mozilla.

Yes, I did do a google search. I spent two hours on Google.

I blame gaming. All those murder and sex simulators that your Chrome browser has been exposed to by coming to the Escapist site -- it was bound to cause Chrome to have some psychological ticks.

But seriously -- is this your own computer or one at the school? My work computer for example shows only blank boxes for youtube regardless of where it is hosted. For me this is regardless of browser, so you should be able to quickly isolate the problem by trying another browser.

If it works in Firefox then it's either time to switch to Firefox or reinstall Chrome.

Hey VillageIdiot! I'm having the opposite problem. Was viewing YouTube vids a few hours ago on Win 7 and IE8. Re-installed Flash and Sandboxie. Now, I can play Flash from any site but YouTube.

Booted into Ubuntu. Same thing w/ Firefox but not w/ Chrome. Feels like Google is force-feeding Chrome but I'm sure that's just paranoia on my part.

Anyone have any idea why only Chrome will play YouTube for me?

Sorry man, can't help you w/ the eTrade.

I know IE8 sux, but I'm used to the way it does things. Chrome can't seem to creat a Fullscreen button, and I find Firefox's Bookmark management kind of unwieldy. I should probably switch to Firefox.

Go to book mark manager in tools and export your bookmarks. Then uninstall and reinstall Chrome. Then import bookmarks from manager when you have it installed again.

I've fired up Chrome and went on YouTube (specifically this video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaXS-Ods5gk]) and it works perfectly fine for me. Maybe it's your school wi-fi.

and I find Firefox's Bookmark management kind of unwieldy.

Did you try clearing your browser cache? I'm on firefox and every so often things don't load properly and I can usually solve it by clearing the cache.
