I still can't help but think that Google's "don't be evil" motto is... surrepticiously being remodeled... you know, like how the pigs ever-so-slowly make small modifications to the 'rules' in Animal Farm ? I get the same kind of feeling from Google, and their slow but steady switch over to the dark side...

How many times have we had this topic already? o.0
As far as I'm concerned, there can never be too many topics on this kind of thing. At least not until companies stop trying to righteously screw people at every turn. If nobody had remarked about it, Google would have quite happily shoved through it's EULA then pleaded ignorance/innocence/money when everything went Mushroom-cloud shaped.

One of the reasons I started this to be honest. Get people talking about it and get people informed. It's arrogant to think this might have nudged Google in the right direction, but it may well be the case that the number of times this topic did indeed emerge may have pushed Google to avoid public outrage.

On the other hand it may well have just been an honest mistake... Not sure how many people are going to believe that one though.

I don't really see what the big deal is with the EULA. Hell, a web browser is a web browser, so who truely gives a damn. You own the rights to anything you do, they just want to be able to use it for advertising. Not an uncommon thing. Plus it is open source, so I doubt there is any "Spy code" in there watching what you do.

Of course, I'll stick with IE or Firefox, depending on whatever is default on the system I'm sitting at, because frankly it doesn't matter.
