Seriously, though- I like WA. I think it has more potential than some people give it credit for. Ultimately it's ability to compare and corellate data could lead to significant sociological or other insights. It *does* need more information in it's database, but that will come.
You're absolutely right to say it's completely different from Google. Using Wolfram Alpha as an Internet search engine makes about as much sense as using a fusion reactor to bake a cake. While you could technically use it for that purpose if you reworked the plumbing appropriately, that completely misses the point of the experiment.
