Been on G+ for a while now, and I enjoy it, even with the minimal amount of friends on there comapred to FaceBook.

It's so, so nice not having invites to about 35432 Zynga games every bloody day and other useless stuff FaceBook likes.

I'm doing it, simply because I got way turned off by facebook (about the time the myspace denizens flowed in) and I need a business-style network social network. I created a google account when I saw this post to see if I could sign up.

Nope, still closed.

shite.

Why bother changing sites? I can't be arsed to be honest.

And you gotta love the people belly aching about facebook owning rights to their photos, when they put them on there themselves, and most likely have used their debit card details online before...

I really like Google + so far. I goes really well with my Android phone. It's nice how it automatically upload pictures I take to a private album without having to do the share thing from Facebook. Also, circles are nice so you don't have to share all your posts with everyone.

Its good.
Pros:
1. It has a clear cut privacy and sharing policy that google inform you of instead of trying to slip stuff by you.

2. You still own content on the site.

3. Circles help when you want to share a link or a post with specific people rather than everyone.

4. It feels more streamlined and less full of useless ads and games.

5. You can choose to follow people or friend them.

6. The +1 feature is handy. I'd compare it to stumbleupon.

7. Video chatting/regular chat is simple and it doesn't pop up in your face the whole time.

Cons
1. Less people there at the moment(Could be a pro depending on who you know :p)

2. Hard enough to share a link or talk with one specific person.

3. Haven't implemented events yet.

4. No apps. This can swing either way tbh.

Overall a good service with new ideas that show more promise than anything else out there.
Also don't forget it is still in very early beta.

It's okay, nice layout but seriously lacking in people, I'd say it'll achieve it's goal of overtaking Facebook eventually though.

It's kinda like this:

Eh, I'm pretty inclined to try it. Depends on which of my friends try it really though. I'm also tempted with the fact that it's a fresh start. I can avoid adding my parents, something that's too late on FB. It feels sorta weird. And hey, maybe they improve on FB.
Circles are great for that. They make parents feel loved, and they don't have to see everything you post. Win, win.

I don't really get that. If it's like Facebook, but by Google, doesn't that mean to stay even further away? That's what I'm doing at least.
I've got a growing paranoia of Google, with their ever expanding web-empire, and their public admittance that they basically want to run everybodies lives. Actually, that's why I don't use Google Chrome, and won't be using Google+. Oh crap, I'm a crazy conspiracy theorist, aren't I?

Hmm, thanks for the offer, but I'll pass, I don't want to seem insane or anything. I know, I'll just build a faraday cage around my house

So... this is some kind of promotion for Google+? Or an open invitation for people to add each other?

Whatever the case, it seems i had a google account already. No idea how or why since i was signed in with my hotmail account. I guess it simply merged automatically. Anyhow i've seen people talk about Google+ and decided that since i have a google account already (somehow) i might as well make it into a Google+ one. And so i have! Only, it feels a tad pointless considering i have no friends added on it. I never really understood how social networking sites work - how people can end up with legions of followers / friends / what have you.

It's like facebook but different, it's not really that much better or worse, but people are acting like it's the second coming. I use both, and I'll probably never switch all the way over to google+ because I have a lot of friends, and those friends are on facebook.

I will switch to Google+ if they can keep the clean simplistic style they have going now. I do not need nor want a bunch of invites, likes, apps, pokes, causes, nor any of that stuff. And as of now, Google+ does not have a million ads plastered over the screen either.

Social Networking managed by the company that knows everything about me and everyone I know? That should work perfectly. Seriously, entirely not sarcastic here; the great thing about Google is that their crazy amount of knowledge allows them to provide relevant and useful services... like Gmail, and Google calendar, and Google docs, etc

As soon as G+ gets out of beta or they send me an invite, I'm in.

I'll probably switch over and get rid of my Facebook when it really takes off. I like Google a lot in general. Very open-sourcey.

How do you link facebook to google+? That would be really handy.

Never got hooked on facebook but really liking G+

Something to consider

HOLY S**T IS THIS WHAT I THINK IT IS?
Does this mean Google+ doesn't sell off your private information?
If it does, I'm definitely switching.
