Yeh, that seems about right.

No, because he was held in stasis outside time and space, as the OP and the G-Man said. Therefore, by all laws of physics (real laws, look them up), he wouldn't age. Therefore he's exactly the same age in HL2 as he was at the end of HL1. And Physics backs me up here. Thank you Einstein :D

My guess is that he's in his early thirties.

Advanced degree from MIT mean's he was at least 26 when he graduated, and no secret government research facility is going to hire a freshly minted PhD. He probably got 5+ years of experience, then got hired on at Black Mesa, possibly as a post doc. It's more likely the other scientists were too old or to self important to do what could be considered seriously hazardous work.

It's pretty obvious that he was put into stasis at the end of Half Life, as evidenced by the fact that they explicitly said so, and everyone says that he doesn't look like he's changed at all. Thusly, he's physically the same age as he was at the end of Half Life, i.e early to mid thirties, but if you look at his birth certificate, it says he's in his forties.

EDIT: Forget all that, the game explictly say's he's 27 at the events, so he's 27 in H2.

He was suspended in time so he is 27.

Unless he had a birthday during HL2 if so he is 28.

...So all along the Combine was simply trying to capture him so they could give him a surprise birthday party?

27, Eli explicity states Gordon hasn't aged a day since he last saw him, since he's 27 in Half Life that's the age.

Although technically it's 27 + however many years he's been in suspended whatever.

I distinctly remember it being commented on by Eli that Gordon doesn't look older.
I agree.
But that could just be politeness. A lot of people say that in real life.
Nope. The way he says it sounds like he's curious about it. The only reason he doesn't continue with the train of thought is because there were more important things to discuss.

Just think about the way he said it. "You haven't changed one iota..."

Plus, Alyx was a child during the Black Mesa incident. Eli obviously thinks that Gordon hasn't actually aged at all, and therefore he tries to set up Gordon and Alyx in his own corny, father like way. Would he try to set up his twenty-something year old daughter with a man in his mid to late fourties? Considering his character, I highly doubt it. And also considering that
Eli must know something about Gordon's stasis, as he knew the G-Man
it isn't that far fetched of an idea for Eli to accept that Gordon hadn't aged.

As people have said, Gordon doesn't age between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2.

"Your H.E.V. still fits you like a glove..."
"You haven't changed one iota..."

Etc.

There's also a good 10-20 years between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 (it's something like that; I can't be bothered opening my Raising the Bar and finding out...), so the fact that some characters mention that he hadn't aged means that Valve wanted us to know that he's still the same age.

That and Alyx was a baby in Half-Life 1 and now she's gotta be in her twenties at least. I'm sure if Gordon had aged the characters wouldn't mention that he still looked the same as back in Black Mesa.

At the end of Hal-Life 1 The G-Man drags gordon out of time and space so The G-Man can rise Gordon at any time.
But in HL2ep1 Gordon Breaks out of the g-mans palm and thats why he says: We'll see, about that!
However in Hl2ep2 not the votiguants saved alyx but the gman becouse he whispers in alyx's ears that she tells his father: Once more prepare for unforseen consequences. These consequences are maybe the happings of Half-Life 3.
