Hello escapists, I have recently broken my leg, and therefore I have nothing much to do but play pc.

I have lately been very much into gore games like Dead Space and Diablo 3, but I am running short as I have completed both a couple of times each. Any suggestions? I like bloody stuff, but preferably with a good plot. Horror/scary shit is also appreceated. Thank you in advance.

The new Splatterhouse is a good game to feed your taste for gore.

It's very underrated too, reviewers utterly destroyed it purely for having a few bugs.

Hell, the game is worth it for the three previous games alone.

The recent Fallouts can get very slattery, while not strictly horror. There is alot of slow motion limbs flying around.

Resident Evil 4 seems to fit your needs perfectly. Also, Super Meat Boy and the God of War series are solid options.

I present to you gorey and very blood splattery, however with no plot or real horror in sight and it's not meant to have.

B-movie style cheesy lines but seriously all the gore splatter and fun you can have.

Serious Sam 3

Dante's Inferno is a cool Hellish gore/adult game.

I tried Splatterhouse, don't know which one I own (only seen 1), but that game is super hard even on the easiest difficulty.

Manhunt 1 or 2, I have only played the first but it is as gory as all hell! The first kill you can do is put a plastic bag over somebodies head, spin them round, punch them in the face a few times and finish them off with a broken neck.

There is also the postal games but I have never played them personally.

Gears of War series (if you have an xbox)! Chainsawing people in half and blood everywhere!

I'm confused, I thought it was harder to pinpoint games that don't follow the exploding-limbs-because-it's-cool philosophy not the other way around.

Since you have broken your leg. Play Bulletstorm and kick some ppl in the teeth.

Spacemarine 40k is damn fun wailing through greenskins with an chainsword or axe, it marries both gun combat and melee very well.

They're not scary and their plots are pretty shit but the original tenchu games on PS1 have the craziest gore ever (especially tenchu 2). The effect was at its greatest when you would stealth kill a guard near a wall and the gore would spatter on the wall and then dribble down. They honestly put more effort into the gore effects of tenchu 2 than the music (there is virtually no soundtrack).

What consoles do you use?
I suppose God of War fills your gore needs, Silent Hill may sate your horror hunger and Resident Evil 4 is an amalgamation of the two genres.

blood 1 and 2 are both pretty gory games, though they're old so you will have to rebind some keys, also those face huggers will strangle you no matter what you do, just saying.

other than that rise of the triad is getting a remake and it seemed pretty gory.

He specified PC in the OP.

The Left 4 Dead games are pretty damn gory, although they're not scary and barely have a plot. Brilliant fun though, especially with friends.

The first two Soldier of FOrtune games are extremely gory, too. The second one is so detailed in this respect that you can chip away at bits of an enemy's skull. I don't remember the plots so I imagine they weren't great but I DO remember that they were incredibly tense (the second game especially). Not really "horror", but very edge of your seat. The mooks could kill you as quickly as you could kill them.

The whole Serious Sam series is a wonderful, mindless gore fest. SS3 goes the furthest, I think. SS2 isn't very good though (do not mistake Serious Sam: The Second Encounter with Serious Sam 2).

Painkiller is similar to SS in terms of being a mindless killfest with glorious gibbing.

If you have Doom, you could always try out Brutal Doom [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLKZhu_dgxA], too. It's stupidly fun, lemme tell ya.

The Prototype games are pretty gory, too. Very, very fun to dick around in. Some people found the plot of the first pretty engaging, but I wasn't too keen on it.

Dammit, that was what I was gonna say.

It's pretty damn fun, if a bit repetetive. Gore everywhere, heck, your character is practically powered by it. There's nothing quite like punching ALL OF THE BLOOD out of a freakish monstrosity for stress relief.

The plot's purposely and gleefully schlocky, and although his lines get repeated a lot, Jim Cummings is just brilliant as the voice of the mask.

Woah, i`m not the only one who likes this game. I`d like to add that it has a great soundtrack if you`re into metal.
I haven`t noticed any bugs so far but i wish for a casual mode with checkpoints and unlimeted continues when it comes to the classic games.

Definately on both points there. The classic games are fun, but they are brutally difficult.

The soundtrack is brilliant, not just the licensed songs, but the original soundtrack as well, blending metal with some B-movie style synth.

It's probably not what you're looking for but whenever I hear violence I always think of 'Sword of Berserk: Guts Rage' on Dreamcast. It's a bit old now so graphically it looks dated plus the voice acting is not amazing but the plot is memorable and keeps it interesting while keeping you invested in what you're doing.
