For Christmas, my father, a long time player of Magic: The Gathering, and the person who taught me to play at a young age, gave me one of his unopened, still completely sealed Ice Age boxes.

Now, I've never been a dedicated player on the game, but I play in my spare time, so while I have a bit of knowledge of the value of an unopened pack from 1995, I don't really know what I've got.
Upon giving me the pack, he said "I've kept a couple of these all these years without opening them. Whether or not you want to open them is up to you, but if you do open them, at least let me know what you got."

I'm not necessarily asking for people to tell me yes or no for opening them, but I'd like to know exactly what I got. I've seen sealed decks of these go for about $35, but rare single cards go for between $10-50. And it's not that I'm looking to sell them, I just want to know what I truly have, on top of the sentimental value of it being from my father.

Wow! Ice age was what was out when I first started playing in high school. Most of the individual cards don't really go for much (If the buyers guide is right the most expensive one is about $11), but if you did open it, I'd do it with your dad.

Unfortunately, because of the way MtG works, cards quickly lose value once new decks are out (or if they are limited edition goodies or what not).
